Sometimes you're just a dumb ass!

After all the work done on my engine and car I finally put the two together, fire it up and step back to take a look. Everything looks great, no leaks, temps check out fine, good job. I run the engine up to about 2500 rpms and I notice smoke coming off the driver side headers. I shut it down...

    Oh Crap~!!!!!!!!!

OUCH! I too enjoy tuning in to another episode of "Guero's World" but I don't think I like where this storyline is going. Take it apart assess the damage and consider having a professional degree the cam and set everything back up for you. I have done it all with a bit of success but the...

New car time? Any previous, recent, or current 350z owners?

I have an '06 350Z as my daily driver. It is a perfect track car and functions well as the DD but lacks a great deal in functionality when it comes to moving more than two people or large items. The downside is that I enjoy driving it so much that I started autocrossing with it. Now I find...

351W in my 94 AODE Vert

Such menacing thoughts... swap or not to swap... just how fast do you want to spend? Low 5.0 can help you if you're running EFI. If it's carbs your looking for then let me be your guide. With a carb you'll have to ditch the AODE and go with an AOD (no computer controls). The carbed motor...

My convertible top will not , go back up .... Sensor which ???

I had the same problem. Went the electrical route and replaced the switch, verified the e-brake safety switch was working but still an intermittent no go on the top motor. I looked at replacing the motor but I can't see that they are worth $250.00+ so I pulled the front cover off the motor...

Who has summit univ. Rad. (HELP)

I cut the alternator bracket and had it powdercoated. The belt length for my set up is 92.3 inches but I am running a 351 block so that length won't work for a 302. I'm out on the east side of Oviedo off 419.

    It Runs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the kind words. Before I can even think about magazines I have to get this car on the road. I should have some video uploaded by the end of the week. I have to borrow a video camera and figure out how to upload the action shots. Cars I understand, computers... not so much...

    It Runs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With a hammer! Just kidding, kind of... I cut down the valve cover bolt seat and shortened the bolt so it would give a bit more clearance. The rest was done with the hammer and a pipe laid on its side so I ended up with an attractive dent.

Is this the line you are speaking of? (Lower left from radiator to intake) http://mustangrenovation2006.shutterfly.com/action/slideshow?a=67b0de21b33bc2314568&auto=0&idx=80&m=1&d=1146252885462 If so it is a -16AN braided hose with a 90 degree swivel fitting on the intake side mounted to a...

Who has summit univ. Rad. (HELP)

Hey Nagash I'm right down the road from you in Oviedo. As far as the bends are concerned I used a vise and my hands (actually a 2x4 block to put equal pressure on the part that I was bending) to make the 90 degree bends. Aluminum is very easy to work with. Which coolant line are you speaking...

Who has summit univ. Rad. (HELP)

Gcomfx, I don't want to get off topic but the answer is yes. The Summit radiator projects toward the engine and not into the space for the condenser. I have the original rubber mounting tabs (w/o the metal bracket) in place for the condenser. I screwed them into the frame with sheetmetal...

Who has summit univ. Rad. (HELP)

"Another thing, do you guys think it would hold paint on the core, my fluidyne had its name on the front, and i am thinking of putting a pony on the front of this one, since it can be seen from the front, no condensor" I don't see why not. Radiator manufacturers have been doing it forever...

Who has summit univ. Rad. (HELP)

Currently I have it dumped to the ground but once I have my A/C completely finished (all hoses are being plumbed throught the fenders and the bumper cover compartment) I will put an overflow bottle in there somewhere.

    It Runs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After nearly a year of planning, buying, cutting, sanding, painting, buying, assembling, cussing, reassembling, checking, doublechecking, throwing caution to the wind and keeping my fingers crossed... I finally woke up the beast sitting in my engine bay. All I can say is awesome! I had dogs...

Who has summit univ. Rad. (HELP)

I'm using a Summit Universal PN SUM-380431. It is 30.875 in. Wide, 19 in. High, 2.875 in. Thick and fits like a glove. The radiator will need to be trimmed of its edges on the top and bottom but this was easily done with a jigsaw. To mount it I took the oval rubber bushings and cut them...
