Any experience with Randy's Ring and Pinion?

I will never go back to Randy's after finding out about them. Do a search, and you'll become aware of the lack of quality parts he sells and issues under the Yukon label. All from India. I knew a salesman there last fall who said the staff had to afix "made in USA" stickers on all of the...

How much can an aluminum driveshaft take?

Last year I took out two 3 1/2" aluminum driveshafts during launch on ET Streets, trying to get into the low 10s. Previously the drag radials cusioned the shock by spinning somewhat. The manufacture was getting tired of seeing me come back in with the rear yoke ripped off, and then again with...

When I changed my blower pulley last time, I used a 3 prong puller with a LITTLE heat on the old pulley. No sweat.

got the oil pan off but........

Take a close look upwards at the piston skirts, and see if one's missing a peice. Me?......I would reinstall the pan after a close inspection with a strong light. Make sure all the rod bolts and nuts look good, and maybe fish a magnet around the oil pump pick-up screen. If nothing was...

Why is my engine sluggish? Any thoughts on Holley vs. Autolite 4100?

Check to see if the acccelerator pump is providing a FULL shot of fuel into the front venturis when you move the gas pedal. Slowly moved? Moderately moved? Quickley moved? If not, you are leaning out upon throttle application, and the cough/die is a result. The 4100 Autolite is an awesome carb...

    rearend

Yes. It's a definate possibility. I would check the easy things first. If you don't find anything wrong with the items listed above, then drain the gear oil in the rear end, because more than likely you'll be looking at an axle bearing at minimum. Expect to find alot of metalic particles in...

    Double Pumper

There's alot of things that can be worked to make a dbl pumper perform very well on the street, without running excessively rich. The PVRCs can be opened up slightly, allowing the main jets to be smaller for fuel mileage and excellent response without bog. Accelerator pump cams and nozzles, etc.

Any Galaxy fans here or owners?

Yea. I just picked up a 66 galaxie convertible. It was painted about 3 years ago, and never reassembled, so consequently, I have boxes of trim, headlight buckets, etc., which need to be cleaned/installed. It's got a 352 with an FMX trans. I know there are peices/parts missing--let the puzzle...

    Head gasket for boosted application??

Depends on how much boost is anticipated. Personally, I do not like to cut grooves in the heads. The gaskets are $$ and I've heard that they can develop seapage(spell) fairly easily if the grooves are not cut with a magin of error. I've never had too many issues, except with the 347s. They...

    Charging system questions.

Possibly. It doesn't sound like the alternator field is getting regulated.
