Power Wire Upgrade w/ Alternator Install

You have a couple of options. Assuming it really is a 100A unit, you probably will be fine with the stock wiring. Does it have the same connections that the factory alternator did? You "could" modify the PA harness and splice on the stock connector, but I wouldn't advise it. Also, that PA...

Power Wire Upgrade w/ Alternator Install

It sounds like the alternator you got is not a 3G unit, but just a OEM replacement for the 87-93 Mustangs. Are you sure it's a "100A" unit? Can you take a picture or describe the connections?

    PA Performance 95A Alt. Q's?

    Oh, I almost forgot...here's your wiring diagram. http://www.veryuseful.com/mustang/tech/engine/images/fuel-alt-links-ign-ac.gif :)

    PA Performance 95A Alt. Q's?

Ok, there is an easy way, and a more involved way. First, the stock power lead consists of two ~6" leads of black/orange 10ga, which are spliced to a main 8ga black orange lead. The two 10ga black wires are probably what you have on your 95A's charging post now. That 8ga lead goes...

    PA Performance 95A Alt. Q's?

All the connection for the 95A 3G come with the PA's, so he shouldn't need that. He just needs new power wire and a fuse holder/fuse. You can get some higher quality wire than PA uses in their harness @ Car Domain. I got their lighting audio 1800+ strand 4ga, and it was cheap, looks good...

    PA Performance 95A Alt. Q's?

You should be able to switch the pulley, but PA did tell me that changing the pulley would void the warranty. I would just keep the old pulley in case you go that route. You really might want to upgrade your charging system wiring as the stock wiring is BARELY adequate for the rated output...

    PA Performance 95A Alt. Q's?

    A coupe of things. The output @ idle with the 95A 3G is much higher than the stock "75A" 2G. Look here.. Stocker @ 900RPM - 24A PA 95A 3G @ 900RPM - 64A Also, the 95A is a 3G...I've seen people refer to it as a 2G upgrade which is incorrect...it's just in a smaller case. :)

How can I tell if my Fan Clutch is dead or dying

The Ramcharger fan I was speaking about has it's own shroud, as do most electric fans. I think you are assuming they don't because they aren't as large as with a mechanical fan. If they didn't come shrouded, they wouldn't be very effective... Also, I do agree with you on surface area, which...

Attn: people w/Foxes and crappy seatbelts..?

The ones in my '92 do the same. I never noticed until now because I never used the seatbelts the first 11 years I had the car..they are not required by law in my state. I just started getting myself in the habit of using mine now because I'm getting older now, and I realize I probably should...

50 Amp Switch for Taurus Fan

I'm making a custom harness for my RC fan, and a couple of the items I'm using might help you out too... Bosch 30A Relay - $2.19 each 8ga Weatherproof In-Line Fuse Holder - $2.25 :)

How can I tell if my Fan Clutch is dead or dying

Sam, you make some good points. I disagree on airflow on mechanical vs electrical somewhat though. You can get electrical fans that pull more air than your average mechanical fan, but the downside is they draw a ton of amps and are hard on the charging system unless you use something like a DC...

How can I tell if my Fan Clutch is dead or dying

Just to interject here, the Ramcharger dual fan is made by Valeo, and is a OEM type fan. It's MUCH more solid than the Black Tragic/Proform, and because it's a dual fan, it covers more of the radiator surface. Just a FYI...

    Aftermarket Guage Questions.

I'm in the same boat myself, but I just want oil pressure and water temp. I settled on electrical for my daily driver since mechanical doesn't seem worth the hassle to me. If you are just going to run two or three gauges, have you considered the center A/C vent gauge cage? Personally, I think...

How can I tell if my Fan Clutch is dead or dying

You might do well to check out the Ramcharger dual fan if a new clutch is going to cost you $60. I just got mine, and without the harness, it's $87 shipped. You can pick up Bosch 30A relays for $2ea, a fuse holder, fuse, and a two position switch, and you are good to go for under $100.

Seems like it's raining rearview mirrors.....

I just had this happen on my '92 GT a month or so ago. I just hit the local parts store, snagged a $2 tube of rearview mirror adhesive, cleaned the old spot up with acetone and alcohol to remove the old adhesive, and glued it back on. Worked like a charm...

    Parts store 3G

You might want to see if any of your local stores carry new Bosch 130A units for the '94-'95. It will probably be the same price as a PA unit, but you might be able to get it faster...

    Antifreeze in oil pan?

The timing chain cover shares the gasket with the oil pan near the bottom, so if that wasn't sealed correctly, it could conceivably be leaking right into the oil pan from there...

Anyone know if Bassani 3 piece Xpipe fits all years?

AFAIK, the main difference is in the hanger placement. I'm pretty sure the crossover back part is a standard size used on both. I would give Bassani a call just to make sure. Also, check out Performance Peddler...I got a great deal on my Bassani OR X there..

    Custom Ramcharger fan harness questions...

Thanks man, you are like the only one to reply. ;) I went ahead and ordered most of the stuff, I'm just trying to figure what those two black cylinders are on the RC harness. I've found out some more info on the power draw. Apparently, the RC fan has a spike of about 30A from off to high...
