Progress Thread Tanner's "there's Probably A Name For This Illness" Builds Thread

AF bases used to have "The Auto Hobby shop" for military folks. The one here closed probably 5 years ago and never reopened. Not sure if they all closed or just ours. Was a nice set up if you needed it.

Been A While Since I've Been Here But I Need Help, My Mustang Died!

Just by chance, do you have an MSD box of some sort? The starting/not starting/running fine/running badly with quickly glowing cats. I used to have a GMC with an MSD 6A. When the MSD went bad, it did exactly that. If you don't, consider yourself richer for the knowledge.

    My Contribution

Amato retired and he hired Darryl Russell, I believe was his name. The next season at St Louise, I believe, a tire let go, bad wreck. Killed young Mr Russell. Amato sold his team and got out of the business. Mrs Russell sued everyone she could think to sue. Not sure what became of the legal bs.

Build Thread 1978 Mercury Cyclone. The pig is in the pen.

A trick I was shown with 1300L weatherstrip adhesive is brush it on and let it dry, which happens pretty fast. Just before you want to stick the part, take a rag dampened with tolulene or naptha and wipe it across the adhesive just enough make it damp/tacky again. Then stick the part. If it...

    Woes...engine Woes...

I've seen it said in many places that our tanks are bad because they aren't baffled. This allows gas to slosh away from the pick up on hard acceleration and run the motor lean. Some seem to have issues and some don't. I wonder if it has more to do with how much gas you keep in the tank. Figure...
