Got a Predator , now need a CAI, how to handle the tune?

Thanks for the interest in the 2 top CAI's on the market. JLT & C&L came in the top 2 in the 5.0 magazine CAI shootout in the Jan. issue.:nice: We are honored to be held in great company and even out hp'ing them all in the test. As somone said, www.DTPracing.com has a Diablo tune for the JLT...

Why do they call it a Cold Air Kit?

ProMod is right. Cold Air Intake is just what the majority use as terminology. Plus the 05-up has no way to get the filter out of the engine compartment without major cutting and 99.9% of people are not cool with that. Jay

    2007 Cobra throttle body

It is a different mount then the GT. I may be working with someone to make a mount adaptor to fit the 07 Shelby TB onto the 05-up GT though. Stay tuned. Jay

    C&L vs JLT 2 intakes

If you have it, find the January 06 issue of 5.0. The JLT was the top HP & TQ producer of the 11 kits tested, including the C&L and Demolet system. Also, if you can ask someone to post better, clearer pics of the Demolet pipe, top, bottom and installed. I have one here and am very suprised...

    CAI/tuner on 87 octane?

We dynoed a automatic on 87 and picked up 20 RWHP and 20 RWTQ. %spd would be a couple higher. Keep in mind with the tank size of the Mustang, the $.15-$.20 difference in 87 vs.93 comes out to about $2.80 per fill up. You got to ask your self is 8-10 RWHP worth $2.80? Good luck. Jay

    Collision repair advice

I did collision repair for 17 years, let me give you my point of view. Are they right? Yes. Will it look good? Yes. Is the frame ok after the fix? Most likly yes. Depends on how bad it's bent. Will your car be EXACTLY the same as before??? No. not in my opinion. You don't have much...

Did Evolution Performance rip off my buddy?

You let your best friend buy a #&L ?:D Just kidding. 1fastZ is right, many tuners "restrict" what the customer can do to CYA (cover there but) if the customer thinks they need more timing when they don't. Yes, it stinks not having all the adjustabilty the X-2 offers, but any SCT tuner...

    XCAL II Question

It's funny how people say I didn't gain at the track so it's no good. Or that SOTP's is BS.:rlaugh: If it gains power on the dyno the car gained power, there's no other excuse. If you didn't gain ET, don't look at the part or the car... That's the problem with track testing...

    Strut Tower Brace Question

Sorry, but no STB will clear the JLT. It's much bigger then all the others in that area. Sorry, Jay

    XCAL II Question

Great glad to hear your happy. You did install a shift improvment tune along with the JLT tune. It's standard with the tuner. You can also go back and make adjustment to the RPM and firmness of those shifts. Have fun Jay

    cold air kits??

No, not with this new car. Tuners are a must as the MAF and computer are not adjusting the tune as the older "seperete MAF" cars do. It's a must on the 05,06. Jay

Does anyone have any input on this CAI

I've seen Kenne Bell Cobras running 12.4's and I run 11.20's with the stock Eaton. So the Eatons a better blower, by the statment above. Too many variables in track testing, it can't be done. Sorry.

Does anyone have any input on this CAI

I can see were not going to agree on anything, so I will say, I agree to disagree. BTW, the C&L is no where near 4"ID. Great chat, Jay
