    T56 into a 67 Coupe: Surgery required

I like the idea of more ground clearance. My longtubes have hit the ground more than once with the stock motor mounts! I have been thinking about shortubes for a while now. The T56 will be nice too. Keep us posted with pics! I want to see the metal fab work.

    T56 into a 67 Coupe: Surgery required

Couldn't you have lowered the motor a little bit more to get the same effect?

    small block measurements ?

So I got 13 1/8 also. The mounting boss's should be offset from the front to the back like you found. Passenger side is forward of the drivers side.

    Broken dipstick tube.

You can try to use a bolt extractor to remove it. Get the extractor started and see if you can get the tube section to turn. Then you can try to pull up on the extractor while turning it.

    small block measurements ?

I have the motor out of my '66 right now. I can measure it tonight. What exact holes are talking about? The one on each side that goes straight back or the 4 that go up into the block?

    Odd fitment question...

You were right about the "not cheap" part. On the other hand, they have exactly what I would need for the swap. From the looks of the 302C headers, I won't be able to use my stock Z-bar style clutch linkage. That would be another mod I would have to make for the swap.:notnice:

Can you get headers for a 302 boss motor in an early body (65-66)?

Help me with these comp. test numbers...

So I feel like my engine is down on power. I did a compression test today and need to make some sense of the numbers. I did it dry and then wet with a squirt of WD40 in the cylinders. My engine is a 306 and has 58cc combustion chambers and 9.5-1 compression ratio. Here are the numbers I got...

    Under dash Air Vent

As stated, the vent is through the heater box on a car with a heater. I couldn't ask my uncle about a heater delete car as he is overseas!:flag: I didn't even know. I'll send him an email and wait to see when he gets back to me.

Anyone ever heard of these heads?

Yeah, I'm with you. It will save me some coin if I clean up the heads a little bit. I thought I would make more power than I did. I guess we will see this spring when I get this all done and get back on the dyno. I would like to have 300 to the tires. I might take the cash I was going to use on...

    Under dash Air Vent

I have a '66 heater delete car myself. My uncle restored it but he added a heater to it. I can ask him to see if he removed anything.

Anyone ever heard of these heads?

The story on the exhaust goes like this, it was 1 3/4 headers then 1 7/8 pipe then 2 1/2 mufflers then back to 1 7/8 tail pipes. When it was installed they used the wrong pipes. Now it is same headers with 2 1/2 all the way out back. All of it was dynoed through a toploader and on a mustang...
