Getting new mufflers, your experience? I want it loud =)

If you want insanely loud, OR H w/ 1 chamber Flows. But it's going to sound like a nasty NASCAR exhaust. And you might have some pinging/back firing when you let off the gas. The best my car ever sounded was w/ a cat h pipe, and "turbo tube" (i.e. glass pack) mufflers. Real deep...

    Wierdest thing to date (Electrical)

along the same lines as I was thinking... or maybe a speaker wire is grounding to the PW frame... but I would think that would hurt the head unit. in any case, pull the door panel off, roll the window up and down a few times and see what's up in there. I love "electricians"...

    egr removal

I agree with, why would you? Unless you're going balls out wild w/ the motor, just leave the EGR on there. It won't hurt you at WOT, and you have only good things (mileage, etc) to gain from it... My $0.02.

    Distributor Posistion

you don't need to mark the distributor if you're changing the cam. When you're done w/ your swap, bring the #1 cyl to TDC after the compression stroke (watch the intake valve). Drop the dist in so that the rotor points at the #1 plug on the dist. That'll give you 0*BTDC. Rotate the dist a...

    Should I get a scattershield?

well... you don't "need" one, but you should get one. it costs more than a couple hundred bucks to sew your legs back on.. and you never can tell..

    Power gains from A/C delete?

you won't see any HP gain at WOT (where it counts). The A/C clutch disengages at WOT. The only gains you'll see are at part throttle (which, who cares) and in a little weight reduction. Unless you're building a 2500lbs drag Mustang, might as well just leave it in there.

    rear help. gearing ?

AODs had the option of 3.27s from the factory. That's what mine had in it, but it's a 92. If it was an option in 89, I don't know.

    Speedo?

You're over driving the odometer and the speedometer by the ratio of (new gear/old gear) If your old gear was the stock 2.73s (well.. auto could get 3.27s, but assuming 2.73s): (3.73)/(2.73) = 1.37 So, your speedometer and odometer will show 137% of what is actually being put on. If your...

    Plasma?

My first couple of years, I did more lurking than posting. Had to learn before I taught. And I'm kind of a selfish poster... The majority of the time that I'm on here, I'm here because I need to know something. Then, probably didn't post for a good year or two when I wasn't doing...

    White Pickup Truck

Move Me To Talk... No, I understand what ya mean. I post on LS2.com all the time. It's just that questions like this don't belong in the tech forums, they should be in the talk forums. Wouldn't mater if you were asking about a Chev, a ricer or a Mustang.. it should be in Talk. Actually...

Did all GT rearends have TracLok?

"install the s-spring" Sounds simple, doesn't it... I think it took me about two hours to install that spring when I rebuilt my 8.8. And mine was on a bench. I don't know if I would of even tried it if it were in the car.

    Plasma?

Just FYI: Plasma is an ionized gas. The important part here is that there are many free electrons and ions. It is essentially a state of matter, same as solid, liquid and gas. It's the state of the air when a large charge passes through it, i.e. lightening bolt, spark in the plug gap...

    400RWHP + 20MPG... How to do it??

Thanks man!! That's A LOT of gear! And you still get those MPG numbers! Very nice! Very promising!!

    400RWHP + 20MPG... How to do it??

It actually is modeled well as a linear relationship (i.e. a percentage). Think of it this way. A bigger motor has more HP. There for it has the ability to spin things up quicker. This means that the trans, driveshaft, axle, wheels, and all other rotating components are going to accelerate...

    400RWHP + 20MPG... How to do it??

    Assume: 15% drive train loss 500HP - 15% = 425RWHP To one sig fig (since this is a rough estimate), 425RWHP ~ 400RWHP
