    96 gt swap help

    Believe the windsors were only 99 through some 01's, and if he's doing a full engine swap it shouldnt matter anyway. I swapped a 02 into my 98 and all I had to change was the fuel rails and tapping the intake crossover. I had to modify the coil pack mounting brackets also.

    Check Engine Light

    Just sitting there idleing can you tell it's missfiring? Vibrations and rough sounding exhaust? A lot of time you can pull injector harnesses one at a time, if it gets worse that cyliner is good, if it styas the same thats the cylinder that missfiring.

    Pilot Bearing Ruined! Need help!!

    What worked for me, and i can't take credit for it, was pack it full of play-doh, read about using grease but it was too thin. But packed with play-doh then used a bolt that just fit and hammered it in and the pressure forced it out.

    98 fuel pump

    Been a few years since I changed my fuel pump and I can't remember everything, but the difference on the 98 is that the sender and pump are in the same unit whereas on the 96,97 they are seperate, and the 98 has a fixed non-adjustable fpr on the fuel rails. heres alink discussing it. Need help...

    best CAI and flash tuner?

    Got an SCT that I'm happy with. Kinda wish I'd gotten a sniper though, reason being I've got a f-150 I wouldnt mind playing with the tune on and I'm not spending another $380 to do it. The sniper you can program 2 vehicles with it and for $150 add another vin. haven't heard of many dyno tuners...

    My mustang is locked down!

    I've written a couple of threads talking about that. Took me a couple of hours to figure out that the book was wrong. He pinched or chaffed a wire somewhere.

    stock 4.6 timing?

    Believe stock is 10*, When I had the steeda adjustable timing thing I had it at 15*. Now that is removed and I've got a custom mail order sct tune, no idea what the timing is on that.

    Where can I get coils tested?

    Find somebody with a megohm meter and use that. Not sure if autoparts store have/rent them.

    Had a similar issue, chaffed wire was causing the same problem. Finally wire was exposed enough and became a dead short, car wouldnt fo anything but flash the theft light. You check your fuses yet? Mine was blowing the PCM fuse....I see you have a 98 also, not sure which all were affected...

    took it to the stealership

    can helicoil it. I have a 98 been its been converted to use cop's. I made the wires to short the #8 cylinder and can't bolt it down, havent had any problems yet. plan on fixing it one day, but it should hurt anyhting not having it bolted down until you can get it fixed..

    Rubbing Issues

    Had that problem on my car with it being lowered and putting wider tires on the front. You need bigger rack limiters, if you pull back the boot thats just inboard of the tie rods and turn the wheels to the opposite side you will see a lplastic c-clip looking thing, the stock ones are about 1/4...

    A/C Problem

    if theres no refrigerant the low pressure switch will keep the compressor from turning on. If you just want to op check the compressor real quick you could try jumping out the switch.

    If it's on the injector and strut tower brace it's got to be spraying from somewhere. If it was the gasket you'd see it all around the spark plug holes also, either that or in the valley. When mine went I noticed because it started misfiring, when I checked it out there was fluid all around...

    Coolant Leak Please Help

    If it's still got the original plastic crossover intake than it's probably cracked, time for a PI swap. To tell for sure, start car and let it warm up, then give it some gas, you should see the coolant spraying out.

    Just had this problem. Swapped out platinum plugs for some autolite coppers, get rid of the coil packs and installed some c.o.p.s and replaced a faulty injector connector that was causing a random misfire. she runs like a champ now.
