    charging issues

    I have a 91 5.0 with a 3g upgrade.When I run the a/c,contour electric fans,and lights at night,the charging system is taking a beating to the point that my lights will flicker at idle.Anyone ever have this issue.

    Bad valve seals?

    With only 20,000 on the motor I doubt it is the valve seals.My guess would be to check the intake manifold gasket.

    Yeah I have seen the balancers go bad with the rubber splitting and spinning,I have never seen the key way get widened out like that before.I already got another balancer on and everything seems fine.

    I have the stock tko shifter on my tko-500.It works decent but if you have the option to go aftermarket I would and I will soon.

    Will this fuel pump work on my car?

    The pressure rating on that pump seems kind of low.I run my carbed cars between 5-7 normally.Someone else might chime in but I would look for another pump.

    I have the Cougar fans,with a dcc controller and works great in florida heat with the a/c on stuck in traffic.

    After the thermostat change it ran fine for a little over a week.I imagine a backwards t-stat would show as a problem right from the get go.

    1 month ago I installed a set of Contour fans and a dcc controller.Since then when I first drive my car in the morning the temp gauge will shoot up past 230 then come back down like the t-stat is sticking closed,(180 t-Stat).I changed out the thermostat 2 weekends ago and it was working fine...

    crossmember question

    On a 91 mustang with a double hump crossmember what brackets go on the trans mount?I know you have the h pipe holder with the rubber inserts,but is there one more piece that goes on?

    will dcc 2 speed controller work w/contour fan?

    i run the contour fans with the fk50.I think Ford used the resistor set up on the bottom of the fans to control low and high speed.Not sure if the 2 speed controller would work with that

    New Fox

    Been awhile since I posted about this car.Finally got around to doing some work on it.Pulled the 7.5 rear and installed an 8.8 posi rear.Put mustang style heater and a/c box in,with foxbody a/c lines.Mustang tilt steering.Also bolted up a 91 mustang k member with power steering rack.

    Quarter Window Trim....

    I think what you have are the covers that go over the old trim.If that is the case they just mount over the old black trim you should not have to remove anything I maybe wrong.

    heater core restrictor

    If I'am looking at the heater lines from the passenger side which hose does the restrictor go in?Does it go up towards the firewall or do I mount it down closer to the manifold?Thanks

    strange day at the track

    The coolant was not coming from the overflow bottle,It was coming from the waterpump and t-stat area.I took the car out the last 3 nights and ran the quarter mile with no issues.I think if it was a head gasket I would be having other signs going on.

    I think my issue may of been the termostat sticking closed.Today while driving around town for about 30 minutes the temp shot up to 210 for no reason at all.The car always runs at 180 unless the ac is on.The car cooled down from 210 back to normal pretty quick.So I will change that out first.

    Thanks for the ideas guys!The only thing that confuses me is that the radiator cap is a 16lbs cap,I took my pressure tester to 20 pounds.I figured if there was a leak it would start squirting really quick with the higher pressure.
