dimmer switch maybe?? - odd problem.

It might be the dimmer switch. But usually there is a sweet spot right on the knob right before it turns on the dome lamp. Try playing with a little bit and you might get the lights to work again.

    no horn, bad fuse, confused

Never install a larger fuse to try and fix a problem. You will only create bigger ones (ie. a fire). Obviously, there is a shorted to ground somewhere in that circuit.

    Water pump question

Tomorrow, I plan on slapping on a new Edelbrock water pump on the 5.0. Since I don't use my heater, would there be any problems in just installing some plugs in the 2 heater inlet/outlet holes on the pump housing?

    What octane

Performance will not increase by simply filling up with a higher octane gasoline. It is not a better grade of gas. It just has a higher resistance to detonation and will burn slower. Any perfomance gain that you're seeing is all in your head.

Gas cap on F150 throwing a code and dorkin up engine??

The fuel vapors are sealed in the fuel system by the gas cap. These vapors eventually work there up to the charcoal canister and are stored in the charcoal. The ECM will then purge these vapors using manifold vacuum into the engine to be burned. This is nothing new. Since the 80's, car...

It might just need to be primed.

    Timing change

Detonation. This is not good. Uncontrolled, violent explosions which can cause catastrophic engine damage. Don't do it.

How do you probe a wire with a voltmeter?

Am I reading this wrong or is everyone advocating piercing the insulation of the wire? Hacks! This can create problems in the future. Backprobing is the only way to check for voltage. Use a paper clip or a t-pin (can be found at sewing stores) to penetrate the weatherpack at the back of the...

    Throwing 2 codes......

O2 sensors do not adjust to fuel. They simply measure the amount of oxygen in the exhaust compared to ambient air. They do not measure fuel. Slow repsonse codes usually set in vehicles with old/tired oxygen sensors. Since your car is relatively new, I would start looking at your PCM calibration.

    placing tail light lenses

You can use butyl (dum-dum) or some silicone sealer. I used the silicone and it stuck really well.

    brightest headlights available?

I sincerely doubt that blinding them will make them think twice about "being inconsiderate". What is more likely to happen is that they will become temporarily blinded and crash into you. Then it is you who will be thinking twice about intentionally blinding oncoming traffic.

    drivers side power window shot

Not true. It may have been the fix in your case, but whether or not a motor makes noise is not the determinating factor. Many window motors have failed and they don't make a sound. What I like to do is watch the voltmeter on the dash while pressing the switch. If the voltage drops slightly...

Pass side window will only go up? not switch or motor. help!

If there was a broken wire between the switch and the motor, then neither direction would work. As you stated, the switch simply switches polarity. If one direction works then both wires have to be ok.

Why won't my coolant return from my overflow to my radiator?

Have you replaced your radiator cap recently? The cap allows coolant to flow back from the expansion tank into the radiator as the car cools down.

    installed cam... miss a tooth?

The car will start with the cam timing off and it may even run ok, but there will be no power. But, I agree, check your installation of the distributor and check the timing.

Shift Gone Bad or Bad Tranny?

Is it hard to shift gears with the engine off? That's how I narrow down the problem. If the gears engage easier with the engine off, then the problem lies with clutch engagement (ie. clutch cable, like everyone else mentioned). But if the gears are still hard to engage, then the synchros or...

    A/C Compressor Woes

It seems that you didn't make that fact apparent. Everyone who responded suggested a problem with the clutch or a refrigerent pressure problem, both of which have no affect on the pulley. If your pulley is locking up, then no matter how many belts you throw at it or how many cans of...

    Need Help!! (Electric fan)

Disconnect the ECT and put a paper clip in between the two terminals of the connector. The ECM will read this as being super hot and it should turn on the fan if everything is working correctly. If it does turn on, then your ECT is bad. If the fan still doesn't turn on, then the ECT is...
