    Finally got new wheels

    I finally took the plunge and bought new wheels/tires. Shelby Redline 20x10 on the back and 20x8.5 on the front. 275/35/20 & 255/35/20 Nitto 555 tires.

    Anyone running the Bassani Modular X-Pipe Cats/Off road?

    I have no problem with mine and yes, they bolt up to the stock manifolds. It looks like they would be easy to switch out if I wanted.

    Took the 07 in today about the "axle whine", and the dealer says....

    I asked my local dealer to install Ford Racing 4.10 gears while doing the "axle moan" TSB, and they said no way. Oh well! :nonono:

    Window's

    There really is no felt in there, hence all the scratches that will eventually show up in your tint. Mine is 3 months old and the tint already looks like crap. Dirt gets trapped between the rubber & window and scratches the hell out of the windows. Look around, it's a well known problem...

    Mine are all scratched to hell, after only 3 months. Quality is Job # 1.

    16 inch wheels on GT

    There is a guy on modular fords who is running a 16" 99-04 V6 wheel w/ slicks on the back of this 2005 or 2006, and says he didn't have any clearance issues. The rear brakes are supposed to be the same on the GT/V6 models.

    I paid $250 for a dyno tune when I had a Vortech on my '02, and he took about 4 hours tuning it.

    Thinking about purchasing headers... advice needed

    Most people will tell you that shorty headers are a waste of money on these cars, being the factory manifolds flow enough exhaust for mild street cars. Long tubes would be worth the effort, but they are expensive and require a different midpipe than you have now.

    Stupid question, but valid

    +1 One time I drove halfway from Houston to Austin in the dark with the headlights off, just fog lights on and never caught it. Those suckers are pretty much headlight strength.

    I have the GTA mufflers, though they did not come from Ford Racing, they came directly from Supreme Exhaust. The mufflers probably are much louder from behind the car, I just wish I could hear them a little more. They do sound awfully wicked when you rev it up to about 5000 RPM.

    I have these, and they sound good, but aren't much louder than stock. I can't really hear them when driving normally, which might be good for some people, but I wanted something a "bit" louder. I'm thinking a high-flo midpipe would make them sound much better.
