    Dilemma...Centerforce DF vs. II

Well, I'm getting ready to put the clutch on the car. I guess I am going to go ahead and put on the dual friction. If my tranny is shot in a month I'll be right back here asking for a collection from those who recommended it :D , totally kidding. I never power shift and the car will never be...

    Dilemma...Centerforce DF vs. II

The only thing that scares me is what if my foot would slip off the clutch while launching or something. I will probabably just go ahead and put it on there, but didn't know if the stage II would be a more cautious, safe, yet effective way to go. Thanks for your input.

    Dilemma...Centerforce DF vs. II

This is kinda what I'm afraid of, I don't plan on droppin it at 5k on slicks but I will be making trips to the drag strip with drag radials slipping it out at around 4000. Do you think I should just put it on there and shut up  or get the Stage II. I would really like to hear...

    Dilemma...Centerforce DF vs. II

AXIStang - Thanks, but I have heard many things about Spec that make me skeptical. tunedin302 - I know what you are saying about hard shifts and I will be going to the track several times and launching on Drag Radials as well. I had a King Cobra before but want something different. I have...

    Dilemma...Centerforce DF vs. II

I am in the process of putting my rebuilt T5z in and am putting a new clutch in at the same time. I already purchased the Dual Friction, but after talking to a couple people I am having second thoughts. I am anxious to get my car on the road again, but not if this clutch is going to break my...

    EGR Tube????

I believe if you do not have cats that it will not harm anything. I would crimp the end going into the x-pipe though or like they said, you will have an annoying exhaust leak.

Subscribing, as I have the infamous ticking that is leading me to insanity. :fuss:

Takin the tranny out this weekend, anyone got any tips?

The bottom ones weren't really as much as a problem, although they were no breeze by any means, and I'm 6'4" 230. I thought about trying the top ones from the top of the engine but it didn't seem like there would be clearance. I might have to try that tonight although I don't think my damn...

Takin the tranny out this weekend, anyone got any tips?

What do you use to get the bellhousing bolts out. Man, they are stubborn little suckers. I tried using extensions and swivel but the swivel was being a pain in the a$$ as they usually are. I then tried an impact with the swivel and broke it. I tried a wrench as well, knowing it was next to...

    Good Street Strip Clutch?

I hope you are right about the CF, I am in the process of putting one on my rebuilt T5z. I hope it isn't too harsh on my tranny.

How did you get your drive shaft bolts off?

Definitely use a 12pt socket. I had absolutely no luck until I heated them up with a torch. Then I heated each one up for like 15-20 seconds and they cam right out. Other people have had luck using a pipe over the wrench/ratchet for more leverage, but all I did was broke sockets and wrenches...

Takin the tranny out this weekend, anyone got any tips?

An impact wrench did nothing when I tried removing my d/s bolts, actually nothing except heat did. And it took 3 Craftsman sockets and 2 Craftsman wrenches for me to finally use a torch.

Takin the tranny out this weekend, anyone got any tips?

Did you mean install the bell housing, clutch fork and clutch cable to the tranny first or the the block? I am just confused because some people say you have to remove/install the bellhousing separate from the tranny because it will hit the longtubes.

Takin the tranny out this weekend, anyone got any tips?

I'm guessing it is easier to take the bellhousing off and put in on connected to the transmission?

Takin the tranny out this weekend, anyone got any tips?

I broke 3 Craftsman sockets and 2 wrenches trying to get the driveshaft bolts out last time. Finally, I used a torch to heat them up and they came right out. I am also yanking my tranny out this weekend, good luck with yours.

    smog pump question..

So with an o/r pipe, would it hurt anything if I cut the pipe going to the midpipe and then clamped both sides. I have to remove my x-pipe soon and don't have a welder, will it hurt anything?

    Ticking....Gets louder when warm

Originally I though it was the same thing. I took it to 2 different exhaust shops to check for leaks and neither one of them found anything on the headers. Another indication that is generally not exhaust related is the fact that the ticking seems to get louder the warmer the car gets. Thanks...

    Ticking....Gets louder when warm

I guess that could be possible. They were quiet for about the first 10,000 miles though, which makes it weird to just start ticking all of a sudden. It's not noisy like a sewing machine, it is like one or maybe two rockers are making a constant tick that goes up with the rpms. Who knows...

    Fuel injector install.....quick question?

My buddy just bought a car with H/C/I and it has 42# injectors on it because the previous owner had it blown. Anyway, we are going to swap them along with the MAF tomorrow. I was just wondering if we could reuse the upper intake gasket if it doesn't tear when we take it off and appears to be...
