    The black stuff was probably dielectric grease.....supposed to be there. If you wanna change the whole thing, you need a special tool from ford. Have you recently changed anything else on the engine? (plug wires for example)

    From idle to about 1000 rpms it "CAN" sound similar to a V8, but you'll never have the rumble. I'd recommend keeping all 4 of your cats though, without them, it has a raspy sound

    You know you can buy them for 99 bucks from Mustangs Unlimited. Only thing is that it cuts off right above the fuel filler area. Nothing that some spot welds, a grinder a plenty of JB weld can't fix, hehe
