    You know what drum brake fade is right? So, be sure to use some engine braking to assist going down hill and don't forget to do a little backing up when you get the chance.

    That dash is either a 65GT or a standard 66 dash. The date code for the 65 door tag is May 28, 65 which could be a GT, except that is a T code (I6), so it cann't be a GT. The buck tag is a 66 Tcode I6, which the dash is ok for. Since GTs are uncommon, this makes me think it is a 66 car...

    The body type should be "05" in the VIN for a sportsroof/mach 1. (2f05XXXXXXX) The vehicle certification label should have 63R (NOT 63D) for a mach 1 over just a sports roof. I hope I gave you good news and not bad.

    Well, lets rule out the easy things... is the engine even an A code engine? Is it a 4brl intake? If you are willing, pull one of the heads and see if the pistons are flat top pistons.

    If you do go for the 8.8 or the 9in depending on the numbers and how matching your 8in is to a '65 April car, I would be very interested in buying the 8in from you. (I am in Milwaukee and I am guessing the diff is in northern IL.) So, my vote is you should upgrade today! :D

    This has come up once or twice before on the differences. The bottom line is that the Cal emmissions one was designed for larger displacement motors then the 289/302. It isn't recommended that you get a cal emmissions unless you are putting it on a car that it was intended for. It is possible...
