    production time

I thought all Cobras got that? Or did that start later? My '03 came with a certificate.

    production time

Yea, even Cobra's after a year can be found for cheap. I bought my '03 Convertable in '04 for $29,500 with 9000 miles on it, it originally had a $41,000 sticker. It was still in perfect shape.

How fast will these beasts be?

He is talking ford GT, not Mustang GT. And it isn't a GT450, it is a GT500 named for the old Shelby, not the HP. Even though the car has closer to 500 hp then 450 anyway.

How fast will these beasts be?

I've seen a basically stock (Flowmaster cat back) '03 cobra convertable do a consistant 12.9 quarter and a 4.6 0-60 when driven by someone a little better then myself. Now the new Cobra Coupe will have about 75-100 more HP and maybe weigh somewhere around the same on a bad day with a heavy...

    Gt350?

Pretty funny looking back on the old threads when I said the new stang had to be 450-500hp and everyone else said "NO Way, it would never be 450hp, never mind 500!" O well

    Cobra's hood

Yea, they got it reversed. On the car that was at the NYAS the reverse scoops were fake. On the real car they will be real. They needs them to get rid of the extra air being fed into the Cobra's larger front grill.

How fast will these beasts be?

The best quote I got in NJ for a 390hp '03 Cobra for a 43 year old driver (with a CDL and a 17 year old son in the house) is $9,000, I had to get legal papers written up that I am the only driver and that the car will not be a primary vehicle and my deductable is $1,500, that knocked it down to...

    Cobra's hood

Yea, the Cobra hood is awesome looking. It isn't bare like the '05 GT/V6, but it isn't as obtrusive as the scoop on the previous GTs. Adds a real nice character to the Cobra, kinda a "tough, but civilized" appearance.

2005 Mustang GT on the dyno

So, judging by the second dyno numbers it is about 312 crank hp and 336 crank lb-ft tq. Not bad for something rated at 300hp/320, however I would have hoped for a bit more being you changed the mufflers. It isn't underrated as much as the Cobras, my '03 dynoed 413 crank hp before cat back and...

Insurance Rip-off is driving me away!

That doesn't sound too bad, if I was to let my 18 year old son be the occaisional driver on my Cobra my insurence would be $9,000. Even though he can't drive it my insurence is $3,000 just because he is in the house. $4,000 for a car with only 90hp less for a 21 year old driver sounds good...

2005 Ford Mustang GT is the "Best Muslce Car"

Exactly like I remember it. Then again like someone mentioned before the definition changes with time. To a 12 year old kid today they would see no problem in calling a WRX or EVO a muscle car, but to guys who, lets say, owned a Motion Chevelle they bought in '73 it would make their ears bleed.

2005 Ford Mustang GT is the "Best Muslce Car"

But, when I said full size I defined it as being holding 5 or more passengers, that way the nova would fit the definition.

2005 Ford Mustang GT is the "Best Muslce Car"

I disagree, that would make the new mustang, new GTO, Camaro, ect a muscle car, when they are clearly pony cars. American Muscle car: car high output motor in performance form Gearing for accceleration 4 wheels more then 4 passenger and larger then a pony car (relitively affordable?)...

2005 Ford Mustang GT is the "Best Muslce Car"

Even the motor technology wasn't anywhere near what we have today. My '73 Lincoln Mark has a 460ci (7.5L) 4v motor that only made around 208hp, the 3.0 V6 in my 2002 Mazda Tribute makes about that. However, i've seen a 460 with modern heads and I think a modern cam making over 450hp.

2005 Ford Mustang GT is the "Best Muslce Car"

The Nova was a 5 or 6 passenger car, in wagon form they went as high as 9.

2005 Ford Mustang GT is the "Best Muslce Car"

A muscle car wasn't just defined by power, if you grew up in the 60's/70's then you would know a muscle car was always a full size car (5 or 6 seats), while a pony car was always a smaller car with 4 seats. A pony car kinda filled the gap between american sports car and american muscle car. The...

2005 Ford Mustang GT is the "Best Muslce Car"

I still don't understand why everyone calls them muscle cars though, that slightly annoys me. The new stang and GTO are both pony cars, then again we don't really have many muscle cars anymore so I guess pony cars filled that slot.

Is Ford really taking a production break over the holidays ???

Hey, my uncle waited 40 years for his '32 ford to be done, you guys can wait two weeks for your '05 Ford.

    06/07 Mustang SVT

    Exactly, 400hp is not as impressive as it used to be, especially by 2007. Lets count the 400-500 hp cars by 2007 that won't be crazy expensive: 1. GTO (400hp) 2. GTO Judge (500hp) 3. C6 Corvette (400hp) 4. C6 Z06 Corvette (500hp) (Too Expensive?) 5. M3 (400hp) 6. Nissan/Infiniti...

    06/07 Mustang SVT

That is what I think too, Ford will do fine if the next base cobra is about/around 450hp (and I bet sales will increase for every 10hp over that, if it is not crazy to insure.) That way they can say they are more powerfull then a base Corvette and base GTO, less expensive, and with 4 seats...
