    Antifreeze no longer available?

Ok, Went to AutoZone today to purchase two gallons of antifreeze. They have this new "extended life" antifreeze which looks similiar to the GM's Dex-cool. I was told the green stuff is not longer sold. It is all now either the "orange stuff" or dex-cool. They tell me this is because there about...

How much freon with a Retro-fitted R-134A system?

Could be a stuck orifice. Always replact that. Also-a long shot- but hopefully you didn't burn the clutch up. Should have put the freeon in before starting the car. You may have burnt your compressor up running it without oil. Note: you can check the condition of the compressor by running...

    Quick post on differential install

That tire size is almost exact same as 225/60/15. Here is a calculator http://www.4lo.com/4LoCalc.htm its at the bottom of the page. These numbers are for the tire when measurd off of the vehicle. I will GUARANTEE you if you measure it on a vehicle it will probably show 1-3 inches smaller...

What have you guys paid to have an engine rebuilt?

a grand is not bad. Quality rod, cam, main bearings, gaskets, chain, water and oil pump, piston rings, freeze plugs alone is gonna run $400-500 in parts. $1000 is a steal, especially considering the cleaning and machining involved, valve grinding, etc. Your in New York. I would expect to pay a...

    Quick post on differential install

Not to start a gear ratio debate on what is better, as god knows there are millions in the search directory. Just some info I thought I would share with everyone, as it took me a while to trying to calculate which gear I will be going with. Keep in mind your transmission gear ratios may differ...

How much freon with a Retro-fitted R-134A system?

R-134a expands more under heat and pressure because of the molecular (I can't spell, lol) structure. It is recommended 80-85% of r-12 specs. However, This will result in a warmer interior.

skip and loss of power please help

It sounds like almost immediately after. I would assume the hotter the spark the quicker they would melt. If you only drive a few miles at a time (ot full temp) it would probably take longer. if you are gentle and don't rev your engine I would assume EVEN longer. 6000 rpm ---3000 sparks a min Id...

skip and loss of power please help

ok Here I go changing the subject again. Is there any advantages to two prong plugs? The way I understand it is the spark archs across the parh of least resistance. Seeing as how there would be two prongs it would just fire on one every other arch. (colder of the two). Wouldn't using a one prong...

    Tach stuck

What gets me is that it stuck, even after the vehicle was turned off. And after tapping on it, it did work itself down to zero. If it was an electrical probelm theoratically it would drop to zero with no power. Sounds like a mechanical issue--probably bad tach. Anyone back me up on this?

Well, that was our mob station.--I got one of the few air conditioned barricks.

    Tach stuck

If it just "sticks" I would guess bad tach. Especially if it drops when you tap on the glass. Now if it stayed at zero and intermittantely jumped I would think otherwise. Not 100% sure though.

skip and loss of power please help

:OT: Didn't realize there was any disanvantages to platinum tip plugs? The way I understood it they corroded less, thus extending the life of the plug? Am I wrong here?

    Am I missing parts?

This won't mess with my o2 readings, and will have zero effect on my vehicle?
