    Holley vs Edelbrock Carbs

Thanks. Must admit I hadn't considered a two barrell. What are the advantages of a Holley 2 barrell over the Autolite? BTW, headers are part of the shopping list a bit later on.

    Holley vs Edelbrock Carbs

I currently have a C code 67 coupe. It is an auto which still has the standard 2 barrel carb, and 2.79:1 diff but has the following mods: edelbrock performer intake cam (inlet lift .4536/exhaust lift .4779) twin exhaust (2 inch) Car is only street driven. I would like to liberate a few...

    Couple questions

You'll actually gain HP with that set up. It's torque you will lose as there will be reduced back pressure.

    289 stroked to 302

Your buddy may just be having a lend of you. 289's and 302's are the same except the 302 has a slightly longer stroke.

    Hypothetical Money

I know the suspension/steering has been done already, but have you considered rack & pinion?

    What Weight Oil

As has been inferred above, the state of your engine will dictate what weight oit to use. The older the engine, the heavier the oil. And irrespective of how few miles you do, oil should be changed at least yearly. It's a small price to pay to keep the engine healthy.

Love the winch mount. Who's going to argue with that!!

    Driver side rear wheel whobble

If you have steel rims it is quite likely the rim is slightly bent. Very unusual for alloys to bend. In this case it will probably be in the axle or hub assembly.

More shaft mounted radio ideas please

Is there room to mount an amp under the seats somewhere? That would be quite discreet and not require any cutting or drilling of holes. Would also not be noticeable when showing the car.

the voltemeter guauge is the most useless guage ever

The whole point of this thread was whether or not a volt gauge was useful or not. In my view the volt guage in very useful. Knowing that you system is not charging will give you quite a lot of time to address the problem before your battery runs flat. This is dependent, of course, on the...

I don't think it is possible to make wheels that look better then these

And you've all forgotten about the best vintage style wheel ever made.....the minilite. Number 1 in my book.

Crappy running continues...with a twist now

Sounds like it's carb related. The accellerator pump may be the problem here. Maybe the carb needs a rebuild.

Need experienced help...gotta update my car

So with the work you've done on the car already why isn't it good enough to drive on those fine and sunny days? Engine mods are not radical in any way to make it hard to drive, it has discs up front etc. The only things to improve it even more may be air conditioning and power...

    Damn Oil Pressure

It could be that the oil you've used is a different grade than you used previously. 10/40 seems a fairly thin oil to me. When I used a 15W/50 grade oil, my oil pressure needle stayed below half on the guage (quite worrying), but when I changed to a heavier grade oil - 20W/50 the needle went back...

    Differnces b/w 302W & 351W

I was having a chat with my brother yesterday and we were trying to identify the differences between a 302W and a 351W. What are the visual difference between these 2 engines? I understand the deck height on the 351 is about 1 in taller and the firing order is different than the 302. I am also...

    Improving brakes

Another thing to consider here is that if your car is a daily driver, drum brakes have a horrible tendency to not work or pull to one side if they get wet. I'd personally eliminate drums form consideration and go for discs.

    Oil Pressure Varies, WTF?

Oil pressure should drop a bit when the engine is at idle or at low revs. Under load or at higher revs pressure should return to normal higher readings on the guage. If it drops more than you have noticed before, it could be the type of oil you are using. A thinner oil can cause pressure to drop...

    does this sounds fishy?

If the person did not give his name or company name and did not say what part of Canada he was from, I'd say it was dodgey. I'd stay clear of this guy, rather than potentially losing a good set of heads for no payment.
