Strange question about a C-4 trans

You need to get the level down. It sounds like you have run the car already. The level should have gone down when you first started it.

    65 Mustang Rearend Upgrade

I would not look past the 8.8 if you need to upgrade. There are quite a few people putting 8.8's in older Mustangs. If you have access to a welder and angle grinder it is not too difficult and they are very stout and very affordable. Forum searches don't allow for searching "8.8", but google...

    Help With My 69

I guess I don't know what you are saying. If the distributor is 180 out it will fire on the exhaust stroke. Little chance of an engine running like that. A cam can not be 180 out. A 351w cam will interchange with a 302 as long as you use the correct firing order. I have a 351w with a...

    Help With My 69

You do understand that the crank turns 2 time for every one time the cam turns, right? 360* = 1 turn, 180* = 1/2 turn. So if the crank turns 360* the cam turns 180*. If the dot on the crank is up and the dot on the cam is up and you turn the crank 1 full turn the dot will be up on the crank...

    Help With My 69

You must know more because your car does not run and mine does. It actually runs real good. I am beginning to think you are posting goofy stuff for entertainment.

    Help With My 69

If you aim the cam gear dot straight up it is timed exactly the same as if it was straight down. The cam turns 1/2 a turn for each full crank rotation. Turn the crankshaft 360* and the cam dot will be on bottom and the crank dot on top, just like it should be. Do you know for sure the...

    Help With My 69

Did you try the early firing order? In your other thread you also said the cam is 180* out. Where were the timing marks? Cam gear dot down and crank gear dot up? I really doubt an engine will run with the cam 180* out. Try advancing the timing. Mine ran like that when the timing was way...

8.8 into 70 mustang driveshaft flange question

You are taking out a 9" to put in an 8.8? I love my 8.8, but it replaced a 6 cylinder rear end. If I had a 9" I would have not considered an 8.8.

    Make my 69 run

What casting number is on the block? What is the timing set at? Try 351w/5.0 firing order and see if it is better. Low timing will make an engine miss.

    School me on distrubutors..

If it is a 13 on the advance plate it will add 26 of mechanical advance, which is too much IMO. A 10 which would be 20 degrees would be a better number. Most have 2 numbers on the plate and if you are lucky you can remove the clip inside the shaft and just rotate the upper shaft 180* to the...

Fuel injection VS carb. 500hp engine.

Phutch, don't get all excited, I already said EFI is more efficient. I am pretty sure you know very little about tuning a Holley. I too have a wideband and an A/F gauge in the dash. I can also data log so I do know what is going on with mixture. At cruise or light accel it is very easy to...

Fuel injection VS carb. 500hp engine.

I am definately not God, but I know were mine is in transition. It is not so bad, and it is a blow through. It would be much better if it did not have to flow so much fuel under boost.

Fuel injection VS carb. 500hp engine.

Efficiency is the only advantage I see in EFI. There is a ton more to tuning a Holley than jets and squirters and like Mr Hearne said timing is the cause of a lot of carb problems including efficiency. A lot of people take out the power valve and plug it and remove vacuum advance and wonder...

    C4 HELP NEEDED!

It could be the belleville spring. It is in the forward drum and can fail with too much line pressure. When it does you lose all forward gears.

Fuel injection VS carb. 500hp engine.

What does it cost? From what I see it is $2500 for the TBI? MS is way more capable and could be done for that price including buying a TIG welder and building my own intake.

Fuel injection VS carb. 500hp engine.

My first few cars had carbs, so i don't mind the quirks of a carb. I like carbs on old cars. For me that is part of the experience.

    C4 Kickdown Leak

Yes, the kick down o-ring is under the kickdown lever which is held on by a single nut. It takes longer to get under the car than get to the o-ring.

    C4 Kickdown Leak

The seal behind the NSS is a metal clad. Meaning it has a stamped steel outer ring with a rubber seal that goes around the manual lever. The o-ring goes inside the end of the manual lever shaft and under the kick down lever which is held to the kick down shaft with a nut.

    C4 Kickdown Leak

The shift shaft seal requires removal of the valvebody. It is a metal clad seal. The kickdown uses a unique oring. The cross section is square and has grooves. They are not easy to get, and they don't always seal.

    Nitrous on crate engine. Help?

If your car is under-geared and converter is too tight, it can help a ton, provided you have traction. On a slower car it can help 2 seconds or more.
