    67 Brake Light Issues

+1 for mustangmutt's diagnosis .... been sitting here pouring through schematics in the shop manual .... this is quite the messy area as four seprate circuits have to be operated differently depending on what's going on (brakes only, brakes and turn, emerg flash, etc) .... since you indicated...

    is an A-Code 1967 a gt?

    "A" codes can be GT's -- I know -- I have one .... 289 4 bbl, 225 hp premium fuel .... 2+2 fastback .... hurrah ....

    Brake Lines

my $.02 worth as I replaced all my '67 hard line with a stainless kit (source of kit was Classic Tube from CJP) .... for stock configuration, all lines were just about perfect except for those from the distribution block to the mstr cylinder -- those required some "tweaking" with a bender ...

    msd ready to run

fwiw .... I just now pulled down an install sheet from the MSD site .... in the wiring diagram it clearly shows +12 VDC going to the positive side of the coil .... if you were using the OEM positive coil wire, it has a built-in ballast resistance in the ign circuit (that "pink" wire behind the...

Dead in the Water...'67 Electrical Problem...

perhaps too little, too late but here goes .... have both 14290/14401 connectors been pulled apart? ... not clear from your first description .... wire #37A/37 is like the main buss wire to the fuse panel and ign switch and is one of the three wires of a flat connector ... if that connector has...

maximizing tire sizing on a 67 mustang

like Dodgestang sez (nice looking ride btw!) .... what also matters here is the backspace or offset for those rear wheels ..... didn't see those figures in this thread (yet) ....

    T5 Shifter?

fwiw all remarks made are spot on .... I did this conversion on my 67 about one ago and installed a new Pro 5.0 shifter (good idea at the time) .... depending on where the shifter fits up into the tunnel, you will most likely have to do some alteration to the tunnel to gain proper clearance for...

you guys make me proud !! ... keep up the good work ....

    tranny

I voted for the 5 speed only because that's what I have now (upgraded from toploader) .... but this is probably one of the most personal choices a man can make - so strap it on and make it!! .... the important thing here is that you are keeping the legend alive .... do what you want based on how...

Which 8" posi unit should i get?

fwiw -- I'd vote for the Tru Trac **IF** you can swallow the bigger $$ .... as said by phutch11, no chatter, smooth turns and great traction PLUS very low maintenance .... any clutch-based unit will eventually need R&R .... I've had several of those types in Jeeps and they just don't work over...

    1967 unidentified foot lever

OK thanks for that update, that's good news -- haven't had mine working in over 30 yrs ....

    Starting my T-5 swap, finally.

ditto on the d/s chop .... wait until you have it all together save the d/s then check for length .... the T-5 doesn't help the d/s length issue vs the OEM toploader yoke .... when it's all done you should have about 1" of space between the rear edge of the dust boot (not the tailhousing) and...

electric vacuum pump for power brakes and big cams

didn't see details on check valve installation ..... assume that there is one between the pump and booster and one between the engine maifold and booster .... otherwise the pump will suck on the engine .... if the booster leaks, the pump will alsways run ..... perhaps a vacuum reservoir would...

    Starting my T-5 swap, finally.

I did a T5 swap this Spring and stayed with the z-bar/stock clutch linkage .... you'll need the older style release bearing, not the one for a cable fork as the bearings are different .... had to shorten the stock driveshaft 1" - but this seems to be highly vehicle dependent .... the toploader...

    1967 unidentified foot lever

one note of caution ..... that lever does actuate a pump for the w/s washer (one push, one squirt) .... those pumps can develop leaks and since the pump body is located in the cabin, washer fluid can drip down along the floorboard and eventually rot out the metal around the dimmer switch and...

    8 inch axle seal replacement

yes, the seal should bottom out when fully seated .... when I did my seals last year I also had a problem with the thickness of the seal .... got two seals from different manufacturers with one slightly thicker than the other ..... problem ocurred when the retainer bolts were torqued up - the...

    Help! Clutch Replacement

you might also want to place two support studs in the lower tranny to bellhousing holes (probably a couple of inches long each) .... cut slots in the ends to facilitate removal of the studs .... all-thread will work, or cut the heads off a couple of bolts ..... not needed so much for removal...

4 Speed Toploader Conversion Parts List

ditto what 68RCodeConv said .... cost delta between rebuilding a top-loader and new T5z (and make sure it's a "z") could be a wash .... plus you could go with a cable clutch with a T5 bellhousing .... depends on the year of the 302 block for the z-bar boss .... toploaders are very strong though...

    T5 Shifter for 67 w/Console

jcode68 - thanks again for pointing me to your additional pics ... the one that's just after the T5 bolt-up is really telling ..... you can see the left-sided offset in the tunnel relief hole by the way the reinforcing plate appears assymetrical in the tunnel "ceiling" ... and you can see a...

    T5 Shifter for 67 w/Console

jcode68 -- thanks for the pic (worth a thousand words) ... I see that the stock console cutout for the shifter is indeed offset to the left from the console centerline - perhaps by 1" !! ... what shifter are you running - the factory T5 or an aftermarket version (which one)?? ... this gives me...
