Wheel welding in San Diego or LA?

Need a place that can widen a set of 1-piece aluminum wheels, preferably in San Diego but anywhere reasonably close will do. Weldcraft is a good place, but not exactly local.

    Electic motorized supercharger

I completely agree on the point about current charging systems. But it'll be very interesting to follow the new KERS developments in F1. Some serious power being shedded in those brakes, and it seems that some teams will store it electrically. Anyone reading Racecar Engineering btw? Racecar...

Question for those that road race / autocross

And don't forget that the Mustang aerodynamics is way outdated. Clearly demonstrated by the 10mph difference mentioned above! Things like a front splitter, vent gills in the hood/front fenders, rear diffusor, adjustable rear spoiler will help, but it's still a brick with too tall front, too...

    T&L Engines F-up...

Please don't disrespect people you don't know.... Most of these guys are professional racers, top methanol and down. And seriously, how many people at T&L are left from the NASCAR times and how many are just hired hands these days? Build back your reputation by handling the mistakes we all make...

    new project.

Sticky please! Jason, that looks killer and will be very interesting to follow. With a fiber body the CG will be insanely low! Dry sump aluminum engine an 1" off the ground to complement plz. :nice: Is that IronCAD or...? Heavy Solidworks user myself, some car stuff but mostly aviation.

    T56 in a 68

Ditto on that. We're doing it on a 69 but are still waiting for the engine, so no real first hand info yet. The T56 is quite a bit wider towards the driveshaft end so dont expect to do it without cutting.

    new project.

Sweet! This is a drag race type of car? If not I'd consider some sort of structural support from the cage thru the firewall to the front clip. The rear is going to be really nice and stiff. But you did write "not complete". What is the floor structure made of? Looks like 2 layers of metal? Not...

    T&L Engines F-up...

Update: after new headgasket - this time with "FRONT" pointing forward he drove another ~60 miles and blew the gasket again. After taking the head of again 2 lifters looked like this. Mind you, this is an engine that has been broken in and dynoed at T&L. He & his buddies are serious gearheads...

Is there an EFI tank for '66?

10secgoal here is working on mine but it's not done yet. Waiting on a rear diffusor from me... Sure he's got pics of other sumped tanks? My car is street/road course and will need all the baffling it can get to control fuel slosh and starvation. Not willing to run a clunky "box" type...

Help! I need a Machine Shop in SoCal

+1 on that. No need to press anything, expansion by heat and shrinkage by cold does it easily. Just make sure you have cleaned the hubs out well (grease) b4 using the oven! A gas burner also does it but its easy to overdo the heating with that and the race will loose it's hardened properties.

Is there an EFI tank for '66?

I'm having my original tank modified with a sump and internal baffles. That's in San Diego and they've already done a bunch of them. Where are you located?

Finally had some time to play with my turbo car

Yeah, but oh so much prettier for it! :D Anyway, you're both in the the 6'es so :nice: Rich went 6.97 with the blown head gasket as I recall? Better watch him!

    T&L Engines F-up...

The 60 miles is break in street driving only. I'm not sure what other symptoms besides overheating he saw. Knowing his temper the gasket probably looks like that because he's thrown it on the ground and jumped around on it with flames & smoke coming out his ears. He's considering...

    T&L Engines F-up...

Can you believe it, a friend of mine got a brand new stroker from T&L Engines. Ran less than 60 miles on it, took it apart and found this:   It would seem obvious to check what way your headgaskets are put in? Mayby have a look at the little arrow that says "FRONT"? :Damnit:
