Warming up a cold engine without a block heater

+1 for the magnetic block heater. Like some one said double check the battery a weak one will freeze. I assume you have ac power available, while I would not use a blow torch a heat gun should do the trick. When I lived in Alaska and this happened sometimes we would put a parachute over the...

So, my wife is wanting me to sell my car...

+1 on window guide bushings. Not expensive, 5.0 resto has them. Once you find the bolt on the bottom of the door that holds the guide rod in place they are not horrible to change. If the windows are tinted use something to protect the tint (I used a file folder) while you wrestle the guide...

need help before i throw it away lifter issue

I know its a pain but you should pull the cam and inspect it. Right now you don't really know what caused the lifter to fail but its a 50/50 bet it also damaged the cam lobe. Since you have it down and the lifters already out its not that much more work to pull the cam. You'll hate yourself...

    21 year old rustproof removal

I had decent luck with the airsol (sp?) spray bug and tar remover. Wd 40 may also work, as well as paint thinner etc. Lots of elbow grease and some good stiff brushes. Try cutting down the bristols on a 3 inch cheap paint brush. Good Luck

    SS Urethane vs. Base/Clear

Not a bad price if you trust his work. You can sink several hundred just for paint and all the mixins, not to mention tools, spray gun etc that you need to do it yourself. Maybe you can help him, then you'll be part of the project, learn the process, be able to spend the extra time to take car...

Worst gas mileage possible with a stock motor

What's the Miles per Gallon?? Miles per tank can vary because of the gas guage. Fill the tank all the way up drive some miles maybe even 180, refill the tank. Divide the miles driven by the gallons required to refill the tank and you will have a pretty good measure of your MPG. For example...

Any one Here Ship a car before?

+ 1 for reputable insured company. Some problems I have heard people encounter: Burned clutches (happens when they drive the car up to the top deck), fluid leaks on car on the bottom deck. Dad's car had a few drips of tranny fluid land on the hood that he did not notice right away (tranny...
