I found the ultimate junkyard seats

I had wanted to try those seats out for a long time, but looking at a pair I wasn't sure if I could make the sliders work. Glad to hear there's an easy solution!! Back to the junkyards... :D

    Anyone seen this suspension setup?

depends on what they used for the rack...

    Anyone seen this suspension setup?

Several issues: 1. Doesn't appear to be a provision for front sway bar (rear you could probably work in). Any suspension company that doesn't include a provision for a sway bar really doesn't understand suspension. 2. Doesn't appear to be a power rack. Wonder if one is available...

GT500s should be in AS in stock form. Looks like Roush cars (supercharged) fall into BSP as that is where the supercharged Saleens go (S281E).

Crate Engine Builder wants me to go F.A.S.T. EFI over Mass-Flo . . .

70vert, when considering which system you use you need to look a little bit into your parts selection. For instance, you haven't really listed any specs other than real generic numbers (cubes and compression). One thing that can have a big effect on things is the cam. Some cams work with Ford...

It's unclear if the GT500 falls into ESP or not since the rulebook shows "05-08 Mustang" and doesn't breakout the Shelbys. More than likely, you're going to SM though.

Regarding the above: 15.8.I 1. Addition or replacement of suspension stabilizers (linkage connecting the axle housing or De Dion to the chassis, which controls lateral suspension location) is permitted. 2. Traction bars or torque arms may be added or replaced. 3. A panhard rod may be...

ClayStang - I think you're fine with the Watts link far as I read the rules. Those tires are good to learn on, down the road you're going to want to step up to something bigger and a real R-compound tire (like a Hoosier A6 or Kuhmo V710). Walter - I think I've seen your car out there before...

Side note, ESP will allow you to run the 3.73s from the Bullitt which makes a big difference coming off the corners, esp since you can raise the rev limiter with a tuner.

ClayStang - Intake, TB yes. This includes the whole intake, not just the part upstream of the TB. Internal engine mods (includes cams) = CP or SM Transmission swaps - Maybe. The update / backdate rule would allow it if the GT500 is listed on the same line as the regular Mustang on...

You've got a few choices as far as SCCA classes go: FS - "stock" - allows catback, drop-in air filter, replace shocks, swaybar, lighter weight wheels (must be same size as available on car), and R-compound tires ESP - "street prepared" - any exhaust mods, may replace intake, underdrive...

    aftermarket seats

did you use sliders from SeatSource or someone else? how are the bolsters compared to the post-Fox seats? I'm trying to find a replacement for my 94 Cobra seats and I'm curious about these. Other top choice is probably the 90-93 Fox GT seats recovered in leather...

    Hood Hinge Problems

Try some lithium grease on the points of movement. I had an issue with mine not closing (had to walk to the back of the hood and push down on the corner to have it sit level with the fender once the hood was shut. Lubricating the hinges made all the difference in the world!

    carpet review

If you want a carpet that you don't have to re-dye all the time, look at Trim Parts - Home. They make cut-pile carpet (like a modern car) that will last a long time. I just got mine installed and am very pleased. Carpet may not be as cheap as the other Mustang parts houses, but it is very...

    66 Coupe 302 vs 351W

No one has asked what your budget is or what power you're interested in making... so what is it? You can build a 350 to 400HP 302 that'll be a kick in the pants and get decent mileage for not too much $. Don't need to fiddle with strokers and all that. Just might take a step back and...

steeroids / J-car Rack and pinion = Sloppy steering

more caster will improve the "centering effect" when you let go of the wheel. my bet is the toe is off. I don't know what stock alignment specs are, but excessive toe-in will make it slow to respond to turning the wheel.
