battery relocation question and opinions needed

I'm sure that's equivalent to the summit so ill get one if the two. Have u started your install yet? I'm thinking bout running the rod between the tail light and bumper. Either that ir next to the license plate depending on which would be nicer to mount the switch. As for the terminal...

battery relocation question and opinions needed

I just talked to someone else about this and I'm really thinking that the alt wire needs to go right to the battery in order for the battery to absorb possible voltage spikes. I haven't seen a picture of one this way tho. I looked for some type of dual terminal but couldn't find one.

battery relocation question and opinions needed

I'm thinking ill just finish with remote mount since I'm half done anyways. Although I really don't like the idea of having to run yet 2 more large cable the entire length if the car. This is what I'm thinking though. From the hundreds of threads I've read this is a summary or average of all...

battery relocation question and opinions needed

So I relocated my battery a few years ago and get crap for not having a shut off switch eveytime I go to the track. I was thinking about adding a switch this winter but when I started looking into it I found that I may have not done the relocation properly in the first place. I ran a wire...

Need some help - codes 121 and 172

OK 172 came back and now the other bank is throwing the same code, I think like 164. Should I just try new o2's. Seems logical I guess.

Need some help - codes 121 and 172

well I just had my car apart due to some bent valves and push rods and put it back together thinking that maybe I would have accidentally fixed this issue. But nope, same exact issues. It still is worse when it is hot out, but it is also very random. It might run pretty good for one drive and...

Bad news need some help ASAP-motor troubles

haha thats funny. I mean it does decrease the "acceleration" of the motor but the speed is still increasing to the point of causing damage. Either way the car is all done! All the exhaust valves were bent and we had to get new manley race valves to replace the bent ones. I got three...

Bad news need some help ASAP-motor troubles

well for some reason three of the intake valve seats need to be touched up and none of thos valves even hit the pistons. Probably unrelated to the lil accident. Should get the new Manley race series exhaust valves on Tuesday from summit! In the mean time this weekend I put in a new...

Bad news need some help ASAP-motor troubles

So the sealed power valves were got are junk. They all have dings in the mating surface of the valve. WTF?? So we're going to get the same manley race valve that I had in there from summit. Also, most importantly we found out that NONE of my exhaust valves had seal on them, but the...

Bad news need some help ASAP-motor troubles

Well for some reason the shifter doesn't snap back to center. Maybe the steeda springs aren't strong enough or the trans isn't broken in all the way yet. I dunno. Either way I'm sure this didn't help. And yes all the gears feel tighter together. I'm not sure if they actually are or not.

Bad news need some help ASAP-motor troubles

My buddy is taking them apart tonight and is going to spot them with the new valves to make sure they seat nicely. If so, then we're putting them back together with some new valve seals. If something doesn't look right we'll be taking them to a shop. I'll keep my fingers crossed and feel...

Bad news need some help ASAP-motor troubles

Stock fox pistons, so forged. The marks are quite small, so I'm sure it'll be fine.

Bad news need some help ASAP-motor troubles

Looks like all the exhaust valves hit slightly so I'm replacing all of them with sealed power ones from advance. The pistons have small marks on them but I think they are just fine. Hopefully we'll have it back together saturday.

Need some help - codes 121 and 172

I cleaned the maf and all other o2 and maf connectors etc. The 121 code came right back, but I have probably 50 miles on the car and the 172 code hasn't returned yet. Most improtantly I didn't fix anything. The car still hesitates at very light load and pops through the intake every now and...

Bad news need some help ASAP-motor troubles

OK so I noticed that my vac was actually at like 6 instead of 15 like normal, so we took the car apart and found that the pushrod (exhaust) are bent a bit. We're taking the heads off to check the valve and replace the seals, which I think needed changing anyways, which is good. So hopefully...

Bad news need some help ASAP-motor troubles

um yeah thats what I'm fearing but kind of assuming as well. If I at least knew the shortblock was fine I wouldn't be too concerned as I can easily pull the head off and redo some valves etc, but pulling the whole motor is obviusly a bigger project. In what way do you think the pistons could...

Bad news need some help ASAP-motor troubles

vac is fine and I also checked to make sure no turbo boots came off. Found nothing yet. On a side note, my car for about a year now has smoked a large puff when started ONLY when it is still warm. If I park it and let it sit for an hour or two its fine. If I shut it off for 5min or...

Bad news need some help ASAP-motor troubles

So my buddy accidently put my car in second gear instead of fourth going about 60 or so and the tires locked up for a second and the revs shot up obviously until he quickly pushed the clutch back in. Now the motor seems to be running rough even at idle and there is also a shake to the whole...
