Things to look at for Fox purchased

Rust under the rear seat legs, on the shock towers, torque box twisting-thats most of your bad spots- oh, bushings, check out your bushings for the dry rotting thing 20 year old rubber parts do, old brake hoses. And that spot on the firewall way down low behind the front fender splash guards...

    1987 GT with T-Tops

Yup, you're hooked now- even if the Honda is a faster car, it didn't make you smile like the 5.0 did it:D? Its important to remember that it is June, nice, sunny, 80's. That car is in as good a shape as it is cuz it wasn't on the street for January-frozen ice, snow and salt covered roads will...

A stock H pipe IS cats-its one heavy, awkward, restrictive mess, but it'll choke out whatever exhaust fumes you have coming out of the engine bay! Like the man said, hook one up for your inspection, then put it in the rafters for future reference and go back to the system you want.:nice:

    I'm Looking for a more aggressive cat-back while runing a (2) catted h-pipe

I'm not sure why you had fumes from your off-road H, that doesn't sound right. Was it older and leaking:shrug:? Magnaflow has a nice cat back a friend ran on his 93 Cobra with a Magnaflow catted X, it sounded good- though nothing sounds like Ford Racing headers, off road H and Flowmaster 2...

New to the forums, new to Fox Bodies, saying Hi!

Welcome, and nice car:nice: I'd say that was Wild Strawberry too. These are addictive, and we're just a support group!:D

    New Car Dance...

Nice car brother! You only paid too much if you find a better one for less money!:nice: I see an 87 Grand National in the background!

    Popping my Cherry

Practice, practice and more practice. Driving is a lost art round here-more mods don't necessarily make a faster car. I always used to shift my stock headed cars at 4,800 to 5, the power flat spots up there. With your 4.30's you prolly trap(in a 1/4 anyhow) well into 4th, the 3.73's will make...

Who here doesn't run front fender splash shields?

 :lol:nice-yeah, I'm leaving mine right where they are, never really thought of taking them off

    rear louvers

Wow, rear window louvers-something older school than me! I didn't mind how they looked but there weren't many in my experience (which goes back to bout 83) on 5.0's. They were prevalent on the late second gen Camaro's and Firechickens. They looked like a pita to clean though. Prolly look great...

    1987 GT with T-Tops

Its been lowered, has the nice Ford rims, wing in the back and a different hood, looks like a nice example if you like that sort of stuff. 120K a lot of guys would shy from, but everybody seems to want a no mile 23 year old car and get it for free. 120K is what a 10 year old car should have, not...

    1987 GT with T-Tops

Well, if its a good buy depends on the price, doesn't it? Barely driven means check all the rubber parts for dry rotting. Rear main is prolly your oil leak-but keep in mind 5.0's burned a little too, right from the day they were new. I don't know that I'd replace the Honda with it(especially...

    Great quote from another forum

No question brother, there are faster cars. I'm on this site and have had 5.0's this long for the character. We're part of something much bigger that just the fastest car.

    1987 GT with T-Tops

New seals and your T's won't leak nearly as bad as we're telling you, you just want to be prepared. An old, relatively stock GT aughta do that 14.9 if-and here's the whole Fox thing wrapped up for you- you can get it launched right. They don't drive themselves like cars produced since then do...

how long have you had your car and how much have you spent?

Cars as an investment are :notnice:. You don't get into the hobby if you want to make money back. The exception for me anyhow would be from 88 to about 91, when my 5.0's (or rather, other guys 5.0's, or IROC's, Vette's, Formula's...you get the idea) paid me back my money on about a nightly basis...

    1987 GT with T-Tops

Like the guys said, its 23 years old, and yes your T's will leak. But if you take care of it, it'll take care of you. That being said, your Honda is for what you want a DD for. 23 years isn't young, cuz thats when I got my first 88 LX, and I'm old. Its a great car, but not for you to rely on all...
