    converter vs street radials

I've always read that the stacked PLATE style is the most efficient.

Need Help On New Setup, STROKER, AOD, GOOD DEALS

I run a Performer RPM on my 331 and it works pretty well. AOD: 3000 stall, www.edgeracingconverters.com make a great stall. Lentech street terminator valvebody to eliminate the stupid Ford 1-D-OD shift pattern. turns it into the better 1-2-3 with elictric switch to engage OD. A good rebuild...

    converter vs street radials

Jay is exactly right. Go 2800 at least or you may as well stay with the stock setup. Traction is totally dependant on application of the throttle. Get on it and no traction, drive it like normal, no problems.

anyone have a picture of the Lentech OD delete switch?

the lite for the od delete is an excellent idea, nmever even crossed my mind. To drill the hole, you just have to remove the tranny pan. Best to do it while you are installing the valvebody. You can wire it up later, the trans functions like normal just no od.

anyone have a picture of the Lentech OD delete switch?

the switch is a standard toggle switch. nothing fancy. you can put any kind of switch you want to use. its a simple 2 post toggle like you would use for foglites or something like that.

Ok help out the old man..he's going racing has some ???

Wow Mav, no offence but that Et bites. You've got really low 13's and even 12's MPH. You are going to have to sort out that suspension and get some traction. What are you running for tires? If I was you, I'd be shopping for some Et streets. Why waste all that HP for such lousy ET's. Dman...

Ok help out the old man..he's going racing has some ???

I'll keep an eye out for you. Mine is in the middle of a long tube install (with the required 15 other small things that have to be changed now). Hopefully I'll have mine done and bring it down. 91 Blue Hatch with DAVS on plate. Looks bone stock but has a little bit of punch under the hood.

Ok help out the old man..he's going racing has some ???

Derek, I'm pretty sure your car was at Rona if I'm not mistaken. If it was, there were so many Mustangs there they can answer all those questions. but I'll try my best. Removing the sway bar is a great idea. Less weight on the nose and it allows the front end to rise quicker, just stay out of...

    Torque Convertor question

I wouldn't even bother. You'll hardly notice a difference with that small of an increase install. Go to www.edgeracingconverters.com and check out their stuff. For a couple hundred more you'll get 10X the converter. You don't have to completely rebuild the trans to use a better stall. I dropped...

stall speed for a stock motor???

Edge racing 9.5" 3000 stall would work perfect in your car. With the rebuilt engine, some bolt on's and the rear end, don't be suprised if you are in the 13's. I ran 13.80's with the stock motor with bolt ons and 3.90's and 3K stall.

    AOD mods

While I agree a converter is a bit expensive if you plan on doing a T5 swap, you'd be suprised what the right converter will do for a stock or near stock car. With the right gears, you can easily pick up a second or more with sticky tires on a stock h/c/i car. The shift kit will help, Transgo...

    AOD w/ Shift Kit ...

A trans cooler is always a good idea no matter where you live. I'm up here in the great white north and I'll take the cooler fluid anyday of the week. The slow release of your car from od to d is also due in a small way to the lockup converter. Just drive a 4 banger FWD and you'll really feel...

    AOD w/ Shift Kit ...

The best way to check tv pressure is with a gauge. A decent trans shop should be able to do it for minimal $$$. As far as leaving the shifter in OD, I did it for years and never had a problem. The best thing you can do for your AOD to help it live is get yourself a really good trans cooler...

    Emissions problems

I ran my 331 thru e-test and failed the first time. Did some tune up stuff and actually hooked up my smog pump again this time. Ran a heater hose to the air inlet on the factory h-pipe to make it functional. Now the two things I did that seemed to help the most are retard the timing. I just...

Can I change the filter and fluid myself in my auto tranny?

Another good idea is to look for a drain plug kit. Nows a great time to put a drain plug into the pan to avoid the mess the next time you want to flush the system. www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=172714&prmenbr=361

Ok...what is wrong? Manual VB, slicks and still 15's...

The sticky tires are basically bogging down your low HP motor. You may actually be able to use them but try running more air in them. A little spin will help get you into the higher rpms where the motor can move the car better. That being said, gears and converter would be a huge help. Do the...

    3:90 gears???

I like mine. Went from a set of 3.55's to the 3.90's and really helped at the track. Picked up .2 in the 1/4 with no other changes.

91 AOD stock running 17.8 (CO) what can I do?

you are going to need some better tires or learn how to drive the car out of the hole better. Instead of just mashing the throttle, try easing into it and add more gas as traction allows. Practice is what its going to take to get those 60's down. Gears will help with acceleration but with bad...
