    As for the ground at the bulb socket goes, it may be good enough to allow the lower draw of the running light to light up, but not good enough for the higher draw for the brake/turn part of the bulb. So first area to check is the grounds. The col switch controls the direction of power flow...

    :rolleyes: Same way as a testlight? :D Remove neg batt cable connect voltmeter inbetween batt and cable, set to read volts. pull fuses till voltage reads 0. Start with known draws first ie. radio feed, dome lites, ect. PB

    Gut open the main harness. :D Wrapped in the main harness is a pink wire. It does not come out at any ends as pink. it is folded back under the harness cover. Dash removal is easiest way to find it. PB

    Don't ya just love......:SNSign: Quick switch test, does your accessories work with key in On position? yes....bad resistor wire in loom. No jiggle key while in On position do the start to work....Yes...bad ign switch contacts. :flag: PB

    Check wire continanuity from coil to key. If it is good your key contacts are bad. replace key assy. Run a Wire from the positive side of your batt to the pos side of the coil, turn key to start and it should run. PB

    With the key On you should have voltage to the coil pos side. the voltage your getting in start position is from the sol feed. Check your Ign switch lead to the coil. Is this a Factory Tach'ed car? could be your tach went bad. PB

    From you discription, it sounds like your not getting voltage to the coil in the key on-position. try testing for voltage at the pos side of the coil with the key in the on position. PB

    runs choppy when in reverse.

    Check your rear brakes for dragging in rev. Jack up the rear and turn your wheels like your backing, the drums are prob catching one of the brakeshoes. PB

    I use Lithi grease to lube mine. Or a dab out of a greasegun will work. Use a Qtip and put a light coat around the horn ring under the steering wheel. Not a big globby amount or you will only add to your troubles. it doesn't take much to keep it sliding freely. PB

    Failure to lube the contacts will cause your problem. the soft copper will wear down and cause a direct short in the horn connection behind the steering wheel. A melted turnsignal switch or worse a fire can be the result. :eek: PB

    More like the choke is just out of adjustment by a slight amount. the choke coil is telling it to close because of temp but it closes too far. Just a thought. PB

    :shrug: When I lived in Mi, I never got rust on the flywheel surface from sitting. But... If Your old clutch plate was wearing crooked as you say, I would check the nosebearing in the trans and make sure the pilot bushing and input shaft match in size. The off sided plate wear indicates...
