    From what I understand, replacing the K member not only drops some weight off the nose of the car, but it will stiffen up the frame considerably.     My personal preference would be to find one of the earlier 2001's. They still had the T45 gearbox in 'em, which is less-problematic box than the 3650, IMO

    I agree- they like to stretch their legs, and its hella-fun to let em do so, but when its your daily driver [like mine] I want it to last a few years. I drive a TON and accumulate miles faster than most folks will.

    Thank goodness you aren't a mechanic, because this is incorrect. Think about it- with a 4.10 final drive ratio, the engine will have to be spinning almost 20% faster to achieve the same speed as 3.27s. So, unless you slow yourself down to a rev-limited speed [IE- no crusing above 2300 RPm...

    If you're only replacing the mufflers, and want a low, rumbly sound, I would HIGHLY recommend a set of Magnaflow Magnapacks. Awesome, low rumbly sound, and they sound much more deep and rich than the sea of 40 series flows you'll find out there.

    Good Price on a 99-00 gt

    I agree with everyone on here sofar, 12K is pretty much the price point for a 99 or 00 with under 35k miles on it. Also, you dont want a 01+ because of the T3650 slushbox. Another thing to consider is this- for another 3 grand or so, you could get a 99 cobra. Just an idea ;)

    Its an issues with the T45 transmission, which your car has. Its got no synchros for reverse, hence the grinding. To work around it, put it into first, then reverse and that should do the trick.
