Here's the New Mustang Lineup Ford should build!

I like it. I doubt it will happen, but I like it. FYI...I'd be all over the Boss 302. Hax

Dilemma...what to buy? 2005GT vs. used 03 Cobra?

I sure understand that, but...I bet dollars to donuts, that the vast majority of Cobra owners are middle aged guys in their 50's that are the type that would buy a vette for having a vette...they bought a cobra to have one, and haven't done a darn thing to it but drive it when the sun is...

Dilemma...what to buy? 2005GT vs. used 03 Cobra?

When I think about it, I tend to lean towards the 03 Cobra. The engine/trans/drivetrain just impress the daylights out of me. They are way overengineered for strength, 6 bolt mains, forged crank, connecting rods, pistons, etc. Designed to withstand massive amounts of boost from the...

Dilemma...what to buy? 2005GT vs. used 03 Cobra?

It just so happens that I am going to be in the market for a vehicle about september/october of 2004 when I turn in my wife's leased pick up truck. We are both really pumped about the 2005 Mustang GT. However, we are sort of torn. The new GT will undoubtedly be in the $25K-$29K price...

Things we don't know about the 2005

Somehow, I doubt this. The HP rating for the Bullitt was a disappointment, and the 2001 Cobra was a fiasco. I am going to bet dollars to donuts that if Ford is off on the HP rating, it will be in the consumer's favor. Hax

Am I the only one here who thinks that...

I am with you. I love it. I think this car is to the 1967/68 Fastback what the modern day Porche 911 is to the original Porches way back when. The 'only' complaint, if you could call it that is one that wishes for more power in the GT, but that's just being greedy! If 300HP is good, then...

This would be a good option...

That's a big no chitter, talk about 'retro' bring back the classic fastback shape with a 5.0 engine...SWEET! Too bad it won't happen. Hax

Things we don't know about the 2005

I am not worried what the rear gear is...unless they are offering 4.10's from the factory, I will be switching them anyway! Hax

    2005 Blower?s

Nothing an intercooler, and a custom burned chip can't fix. I imagine with a new EEC computer, it will take some time for the aftermarket to crack it, but it will be done. Still a KB Blowzilla at say 6-8 lbs of boost will make a ton of torque off the line, and get that car moving quickly...or...

'05 Mustang GT HP#'s from MotorTrend

SVTDriver, what wagon has been available since the Buick Roadmaster was phased out? There has not been a real one, except maybe the Volvo Turbo Wagon, which I thought was kind of cool. Look at the Matrix, Mazda 5 (or whatever it's called), and the myriad of Utilitarian type vehicles that are...

'05 Mustang GT HP#'s from MotorTrend

No you're not the only one. I was thinking the same thing. If I had a pack of kids, golf clubs, sports gear, and had to haul groceries, I'd take a 340 HP, AWD supercharged hemi in a wagon over any minivan. Come to think of it...a 2 door variant of the Magnum would be pretty darn cool, kind...

Horsepower in 05 and impact on sales

Hey Ron, I hear you loud and clear, but there is a big difference in an 'import enthusiast' and a ricer. Sadly, ricer's are not just limited to VTEC's and other assorted crap...a large majority of them drive (GASP) 1999-2003 V6 mustangs! I don't necessarily dislike imports (although they...

Hot Rod /Motor Trend Threads In here

I'd love to have a 6 speed, but other than the novelty of it, what's the big deal? The TKO, while a bit notchy, is a nearly indestructible transmission, and also, I think unless the T56 is orderd a certain way, it actually has the same or very close final drive ratio. So what if it's only a...

Horsepower in 05 and impact on sales

You got part of it right. It IS about selling cars. I think 300 HP is a good number. Even in the muscle car heyday, the Hi Po 289 was rated at 271 HP, and this was with a solid lifter cam, higher compression, etc. The Shelby GT350's were rated at like 305 or 310 or so...and again, this was...

Hot Rod /Motor Trend Threads In here

First stop is the gear shop, then the exhaust shop, then the shifter shop, then the rim and tire shop...Man, this is going to be fun. Hax

    2005 Blower?s

I don't know, but an intercooled KB Blowzilla and about 12 lbs of boost would be nice! Hax
