Exhaust ports on 58cc Jegs heads

How wide do the exhaust ports on the heads measure? For comparison, my AFR's measured 1.300 inches wide and my crappy headers measured 1.100 wide, a pretty big difference. I was able to open up the headers to 1.150 but I have since ditched them for a set of FPA headers which are exactly 1.300...

    Fire and Ice

What is the goal of the finished cars? Are they intended to be cars that could compete in autocross? drag racing? or are they show cars/trailer queens? There is obviously a lot of work and knowledge going into the builds; I'm just wondering if the end result will be cars that can perform as...

    c4 to t5 in my 67?

That trans is your best option unless you go aftermarket. Since you already have it, there's no reason not to use it and it should be plenty strong on the street. I've done the swap and got a lot of info here: http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2000/09/t5swap/

    Will this clutch work?

T5's have 10 splines, I'm not positive, but from what I remember the TKO's and T56's are 26 spline. I would give Spec a call. My Centerforce was for a 26 spline and I shipped it to centerforce so they could change out the splines, cost me $40. Or you may be able to use the pressure plate and buy...

How much Should an exhaust install cost?

I think I'm just going to setup the exhaust myself then have someone weld it. Since this is such a simple setup, I am just going to get a summit X-pipe kit then purchase some pre-bent mandrel pipe to exit in front of the rear tire. If they still want an arm and a leg just to weld it I'll pay one...

How big are stock 302 valves?

the pushrod length changed in 1969 to 6.905, slightly longer than 1968 and older engines. If you are using 69 windsor heads on a 302 you'll want something close to that, When I did it I used 6.875 (.030 smaller) and they worked well. Stay away from the rail rockers when doing this swap as 69...

How much Should an exhaust install cost?

I'm gonna call up some shops on Monday. I will be buying the mufflers, installing the headers, and buying an X-pipe as well if they don't have them at the shop. I'm gonna drive there on open headers, hand them an X-pipe and two mufflers, and let them do the welding and bending. I want a...

    Electric Fan/Alternator Experts needed

It was a flex-a-lite fan made for 5.0's. the rad was innefficient to begin with, stock radiators are garbage. I had to sell that fan because it wouldn't fit with the new radiator. I think the spal fans are around 1500cfm each, two should be fine for my setup.

    Electric Fan/Alternator Experts needed

That is what I would like to be able to do, run the fan and pump in line while waiting at the track, that way the engine will be cool before I make every run. I an not running the stock radiator anymore, I have a 27x19 aluminum radiator and it cools much better than stock, but I ran an...

    Electric Fan/Alternator Experts needed

Well I guess it would make more sense to take a temp reading from the lower radiator hose but one of the controllers seems to have an electical lead that attaches to the thermostat housing to read the temp. I don't like the ****ty temp probes that wedge in the radiator, not only that there...

    Electric Fan/Alternator Experts needed

The DCC controls seem to only have the probe type temp sensors that are wedged in the radiator fins. Is there anyway to control the fan and water pump with an actual thermostat temp sensor mounted in the intake manifold? Also, I don't see a controller for dual fans? Would I need two separate...

    Electric Fan/Alternator Experts needed

I'm looking to ditch the mechanical fan for a dual Spal electric setup I've had my eye on for a while. I want to have the fans controlled by a thermostat and I would like to be able to have the fans run possibly on a timer after the car is turned off to control heat soak. I also will need...

    5000 to spend need help

I'd go with the G-force t-5 and probably get the upgraded mainshaft as well. Highly doubt you'd be able to break it with an N/A 408. They are rated at around 600hp and I have seen many high 9/Low 10 second cars running the G-force gearset. Overbuilding is nice, but you'll be spending a lot...

Yet another "what will I run" thread

My combo was nearly identical with the exception of a bigger cam and headers and I was running mid/high 15's on street tires. Wheel hop was a major problem off the line.

Bad news for me and my 73

I agree with TheMetriX. Anyone (including Judges) who has a general understanding of logic can't deny the fact that affirming an antecedent is faulty reasoning. Just because someone owns a fast car or race car, does not mean they are always racing it. The cop would have had to witnessed you...

    Holley 650 DP. What Jets???

I'm running a 302 with AFR heads and the cam is custom 219/[email protected] and about .550 lift. I'm running an RPM intake and longtube headers. I don't have a wideband yet, but I am curious what jets I should be running or if anyone has a good idea Currently the primaries are 67 and the secondaries...
