    Car & Driver re: brakes

Yep... it makes a huge difference. For all of you out there who don't like the '05's styling, and are married to your 99-04, do yourself a favor and DO NOT go test drive a new one just for the heck of it. You'll hop back into your fox and it'll never be the same...Regardless of how straight-line...

    Car & Driver re: brakes

Yeah, the article was very positive, and they totally trashed on the outgoing Fox-derivative platform (hint hint, to all you out there who were saying "I don't think the '05 will be that much better...) Randy, I doubt the '05 GT brakes are any better than the Mach, as the Mach does stop indeed...

    Prototype 2005 Saleen S-281 Pics.

Ummmmm..... by your logic, Janet Reno and Jennifer Lopez look alike because they have a head, 2 arms, 2 legs, and tits. And both their names start with J. The hood vents are the ONLY thing. The ground effects share no resemblance, it's just that both cars have ground effects. Tons of cars have...

Shelby Expedition and no Shelby Mustang?! WHY?!

Trying to make an Expedition go toe-to-toe with a Cayenne Turbo would be like trying to turn a sumo wrestler into a gymnast. I can't imagine that their motivation is to compete with the Germans, using the Expedition platform. Pointless....

    Car & Driver re: brakes

Please Mach owners, don't put me in front of the firing squad. The brakes did work well, they just had poor feel and modulation. I never realized it until I got the chance to jump out of a couple of cars with world-class binders, and then hammer on the Mach.

    Car & Driver re: brakes

It's all relative. You may drive the car and think they're great, but those guys drive everything under the sun, and a different car home each day, so subtle things that we don't always have a problem with, absolutely SCREAM at them. I had the opportunity recently to open-track an '04 Mach, a...

Dec 04 Car and Driver 2005 gt 1/4 in 13.8

Absolutely!!! I'm no slouch at getting the most out of my cars. I had a fully-loaded '88 GT convertible (heavy) that bone-stock (prior to modifying, I modify everything I own) I was running 14.80's. A '93 6-speed Corvette that I ran consistant 13.30's in bone-stock (new, hadn't even changed the...

Shelby Expedition and no Shelby Mustang?! WHY?!

If there is to be a Shelby version of the new Mustang, they will keep it secret FOR AS LONG AS THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH IT, for blatantly obvious and sensible reasons. Think for a second or two, before you get all pissed off. The Expedition is just fluff and filler, you're way off the mark...

Dec 04 Car and Driver 2005 gt 1/4 in 13.8

Hey, I'm not knocking 'em!!! I'm all for it!! I'm just making the point that if you're going to be a magazine racing jockey, you need to know the context and perspective of the data you're obsessing over.

    Got my 05 GT

Foghorn, 1badII was making a sarcastic jab, seeing that there is no letter "e" in the word "Camaro". The funny thing is that alot of Camaro OWNERS don't know how to spell the name of their car correctly, and use an "e"!!!! LOL!!!

Dec 04 Car and Driver 2005 gt 1/4 in 13.8

I don't buy the "crappy driving" urban myth, C&D does fairly well. You may find some people running a tenth or two (or maybe 3) better, but you can always attribute it to better conditions, cooler weather, disparity between cars, and no, they don't usually speedshift as they prefer to test cars...

    Got my 05 GT

O.K., in the defense of Corvette owners everywhere.... Wow, what a surprise, on a car that has a base price of $45K.... What do you expect????? No, they've got a little more class than to be beating on their cars everywhere they go like a teenage kid, as if it's the first fast car they ever...

    Got my 05 GT

Yes, to each his own. To me, the new Vette is kinda like a girl who's totally hot, except she's got this wierd-shaped man-like butt, such that you just can't stop staring at it and obsessing/stressing over it.... That's where I'm stuck with the Vette. She looks good, but I can't keep from...

    Got my 05 GT

The new Vette has some nicer crisper styling than the C5, and an improved interior (although it's still cheapie-looking and uninspired for the money), and obviously the performance is hot, BUT..... It looks even worse than ever from the side, where the car suffers from flat-out goofy proportion...

    05 Saleen with fake exhaust

That's a slick execution/solution. I like it. Nothing fake there, the creator of that 1st posted .jpg simply didn't know what he was looking at.

CDC Blue GT ready for SEMA (pics)

So far I haven't seen a 1/4 window cover that doesn't look like a cheesy tack-on. This one is no better. Styling changes, just for the sake of being different, are silly when it just "doesn't work". The rest of the car looks good. The chin spoiler is a little too much, but overall it's neat piece.

    Saleen pics are up!

Better stance? How could it be any better? The car is low and level. Perfect in my eyes. And the wheels look very up-market. Glad they didn't put some dorky ghetto chrome-jobs on it. But I can understand that the wheels might be polarizing. I for one love them, wouldn't change them a bit. Thank...

    Saleen pics are up!

Exactly, lose the upper spoiler and it really looks hot. Maybe somebody with photochop skills can oblige? Maybe the big double spoiler effect is for the Extreme, and the standard S281 just gets the duck?

    Saleen pics are up!

Looks like a home-run without the spoiler, which looks like a friggin snow-drift. I love it the more I see it. And I love the taillamp treatment. Shelby took the 3-element Mustang taillights and tossed 'em aside in 1967, so why should Saleen stay married to them?? I think the rear end looks dead...

    Spolier or not to spoiler?

Shelby's never had a rear decklid pedestal spoiler like your '05. They had absolutely nothing there in 65-66, and in 67-70 they had a ducktail. So there's really no analogy between "Shelby-inspired" style and the spoiler on your '05. Don't worry, your spoiler looks great. Just many of us here...
