Got the baseline dyno done today

Actually I've done that and seen other do as well. Just cool the motor extremly well, do a very short burnout, and shut it down as you go through the traps. Generally worth 3-5 tenths.

Are 275x50x15 Drag Radials the biggest 50 for a 15" rim?

nope, bfg makes a 325/50/15 as well that's much bigger than the 275.

What do you guys think about this combo?

I have used both (well, the 75mm, 77mm and 80mm units) and I'd say that the the 75mm bullet meters are just not worth waisting money on. They are slightly better than the C&L 73mm meters but that's about it. The better 77 & 80 mm units have always been much smoother and easier to tune for me.

What do you guys think about this combo?

The only thing I don't really like is the 75mm MAF. The 80mm Pro M units are much better IMO and well worth the extra money. The car will be much more driveable and idle better with the better 80mm unit.

Bassani shorties and x-pipe for $400

I'd say get LT's. The RS car has Bassani shorties and X pipe on it and they are a wonderfull set, but if it were for my streetcar I'd skip the shorties and go for LT's.

What cam for a mostly stock stang with gt-40/p heads.

Hey Tom, You made some pretty good numbers for an old motor. The HP/TQ curves look very nice like the motor is still happy too. Not that I’m disappointed with the numbers you made, but I think your car has more in it that could be found pretty easily. It looks like the motor is too...

What cam for a mostly stock stang with gt-40/p heads.

The question is really - How much potential acceleration will you be giving up by using an aftermarket cam? The Stock cam will be faster with your current mods. The aftermarket cam may see 12-15 HP more than the stock one at the peak but your car will run faster with the stock one because...

I didn't think p/v clearance was gonna be an issue with my new pistons...

No, a thicker gasket wont work for you. You'll only gain ~.020" with a thick gasket and it will kill compression. TEA rents a jig and tool to flycut your pistons while still assembled in the shortblock. I'd give them a call and see how much it is to rent that.

I didn't think p/v clearance was gonna be an issue with my new pistons...

OK, that explains it. Those TRW pistons are pretty much a stock Ford piston that they expect to only use 1.84 valves with at the Max. So, yes, you'll need to cut the pistons to clear your 185's. Sucks but there really isn't any other way around this.

What cam for a mostly stock stang with gt-40/p heads.

Stick with the stock cam with that aod and small converter and your ride will run much better than with the b/e and most other cams out there.

    New valve springs installed

I think that if you had any issues with noise in your valvetrain it was not related to your old valve springs. 140 on seat 350 open should have been plenty of spring to rev to 6200 easily with those springs. Was that 350 open measured at your max cam lift or at the max lift of the springs...

Do you know what these springs are installed at?? Seat and rate or open???

    fastest stock blocked N/a 94-95 vs 96-98

Say, I didn't even realize that I left off the race weight from the web page...my bad. The car is pretty light for a 94/95 @ 3250 with driver (I'm 240lbs). You guys are completely correct about the peak V. average numbers thing. Keep the car up in the revs and the power flat and you'll go...

gt40p head users IN HERE!! deciding on cam!!

They are a nice set and to my knowledge are the only "P" heads to run in the 11's in FS competition. Coincidently I also used an Explorer intake on that car...but no port work. I'm very curious to see how well it performs on the dyno for you! Good Luck.

gt40p head users IN HERE!! deciding on cam!!

Yes, they will work. You will need a fresh valve job with new valves though so you will need some machine work reguardless.

    EGR removal question,.

I just kept the sensor from the EGR and taped off the plunger so that the EEC thought it was working. Then I just tucked the sensor away so and everything was fine.

    Plug gap with Edelbrock heads.

I don't see any ignition stuff in your sig so I'll say .04-.045". If you do have a quality ignition then you should be around .05-.055"
