    recommended heater core

OEM. I could have got one for 24$ at a parts store with a lifetime warranty, but something like this that I only want to do once, I felt it was better to go ahead and pay the dealer 75$ for one exactly like the one I took out that lasted 20 years.

    My new project! (pics)

Worked some more on the a/c stuff yesterday. I still needed a way to tension the belt, so I found this bracket I had laying around, modified it a little bit, and put a spare foxbody Mustang tensionor on it. Not ideal, but it will work. It seems to line up good. I also found a 6 rib clutch...

    mod motor in classic

Modified Mustangs & Fords has a project car called "Generation Gap". It's a 68 that they put a 3 valve mod motor into. http://www.mustangandfords.com/projectbuild/mdmp_1006_1968_ford_mustang_engine_swap/index.html...

    28oz Flywheel for T5 swap

I'm using a Ford Racing billet steel flywheel in my 68 right now. It's exactly what you need. 28 oz, 10.5 inch fox clutch with a T5. You can also use a Fidanza aluminum flywheel, I have one of these too and I like it because you can replace the friction and it comes with a 50 oz and a 28 oz weight.

HEI Distributor or Pertrnix Electronic Ignition

Nah. My post came across more harsh than I intended for it to. Your engine bay is super clean, I just don't like that distributor on Ford cars is all.

    My new project! (pics)

Oh I almost forgot. She met a buddy today. I went to an upholstery shop to have him give me a quote on some work and they had a 62 Fairlane 2 door Sport Coupe up there that they were putting a full interior in.

    My new project! (pics)

I will be there, may bring the 68 Coupe also. I think I'm going to register for the cruise this year so I can park downtown. Stop by and say hi. I might stay for Sunday's show too. I heard that TRP ended up not closing. They still show it on the Mid America site...

    My new project! (pics)

My newest project for this car is getting the a/c going again. I'm driving this thing to Tulsa this June for the Mid America Ford and Shelby meet, and I want my a/c working. I cleaned up and repainted and mounted the stock a/c compressor bracket, which is the only a/c component I removed from...

Water Pump Inlet for 408W in 67 Mustang

In my 68 I have a fox Mustang style water pump and timing cover, which means the pump has a drivers side outlet. But instead of the original style radiator with the bottom hose on the opposite side, I have a Fox body radiator also, so I just use a fox lower hose. The radiator core is the exact...

HEI Distributor or Pertrnix Electronic Ignition

I know I'm going to make some of you mad, but I don't care. Go ahead and put ugly ass GM looking crap on your Mustang, or keep it looking good while still working just as well. I like Gikort's engine except the GM looking HEI. I used Pertronix in the 302 in my Fairlane, and IMO, my...

Don't by cheap engine cradles. (pics of why inside)

Lol, I accidentally stumbled on to this old thread. You'll notice in my Fairlane progress thread ("My new project"), that this engine cradle was holding the 302 I put in it. It took about an hour of persuasion, and some pretty creative solutions, but I got it to work. It set on there for a...

    My new project! (pics)

Last weekend I hit a big ass owl. He screwed up the drivers side of my pristine original grille pretty bad. I spent about 3 hours on it and got it looking pretty damned good, but not quite like it was. This is before I fixed it, I don't have any after fix pics yet. I also fixed up the mid...

    Dumb C4 Question

I took off w.o.t. (so I can feel it shift) from a stop and let it shift and it is shifting into drive. I guess it just shifts too smooth under normal conditions.

    Dumb C4 Question

If the modulator valve needs to be adjusted, would that keep it from shifting into drive? My Fairlane is so quiet, I can't tell if it's shifting into drive or not. I can't feel it either, but then again I can barely feel the 1-2 shift. I don't have a tach to be able to tell. It just feels like...

    My new project! (pics)

I've got to say that I really enjoy driving this thing! I've driven it to work like 5 days since I fixed the trans again, and I drive it into town almost every day. I actually haven't driven my 68 Coupe since I got this thing going, but the coupe is going to work with me tomorrow. Anyway...

    My new project! (pics)

I took the old man for a ride in it today. This car was his mother's since 1968. It was real cool letting all the family check it out.

    My new project! (pics)

I drove it to work 2 days this week. At this point I've put over 100 miles on it, and I've had no problems. Well I do some small bugs to work out but nothing major. I have a draw on the battery. I don't know why, but I think I might have the regulator wired wrong. It needs new shocks. Other...

Short cam life with new oils

I have read a lot of info on this, and I still get different evidence all the time about new oils and cam life. I decided that for me it was easier just to play it safe and use an oil with a high zinc content. I found out that Rotella 30wt has like 1100 or 1200 ppm of zinc, so I use that...
