    Head/Intake gaskets with Vortech

I've had good luck with FelPro 9333-PT1 and 8548-PT2 on supercharged builds. If you don't detonate the motor they will hold strong. If you do detonate it they will pop (what you want). Wes

First Look at a New Tuning Option

I think the release date will be as soon as all the kinks are worked out - it is looking very good thus far for the hardware, Craig did a stellar job. Wes

First Look at a New Tuning Option

Sure will - the software supports pulling in a single analog input via the EVP on the car or 4-8 via a DataQ box. Wes

First Look at a New Tuning Option

Made a little video last nite of the progress that has been made with the Moates.net Quarterhorse/ Clint Garrity's BinaryEditor More pics and info here Stay tuned for a video of me tuning a car on the dyno in realtime. :D Wes

What Gauges with Forced Induction Motors (Supercharged or Turboed)

I tune with EGT on the dyno for vehicles setup for it - EGT is a relative number that is influenced by sensor placement, altitude and a multitude of other things. I think it would be hard to utilize that gauge usefully in vehicle driving. Factory gauges/dummy lights aren't bad from a "wow...

Winter mods have begun!! Need tuning and porting advice.

He might not can get it to you in a format you can look at - if he can't give me a shout and I can get you in there. Regardless even starting from scratch is not a big deal. Wes

Winter mods have begun!! Need tuning and porting advice.

I'd go straight to the MAP - the tuning software is "sorta" similar but you will find AEM much easier than working in the Ford calibration. If you can grab some dyno time on a LOADED dyno after you figure out how the fueling tuning works you will be able to quickly dial it in. Give me a shout...

    buddys gotta prob

Check the basics as mentioned above - vacuum leaks, exhaust leaks, timing. I deal with dying E303 combos all the time, tuning will eliminate it unless you jack the idle way up. This is always fixed by ensuring fueling is correct at idle and tuning the neutral/drive idle airflow functions. Wes

What Gauges with Forced Induction Motors (Supercharged or Turboed)

I don't run any gauges in mine, but if I were to pick one for a f/i car it would be AFR. Second choice would be oil pressure. My take is that if something is up with the car I will know it and get off it - the rest of things happen to quickly to interpret a gauge and take action... at WOT...

size of 94 gt stock mass air meter?

I've run quite a few H/C/I guys on the stock MAF. Switching to a 90mm Lightning setup was marginally beneficial on the guys spinning above 6k with well flowing heads but overall your money is best put elsewhere. What I would do is to probe your MAF with a volt meter and make a couple pulls with...

    trans cooler install- hose size?

I used some teflon paste - started it up a few threads so there was no chance to get into the cooler. Wes

    trans cooler install- hose size?

I have 3/8 line. Tranny doesn't get any hotter than 174*F (measured at TOT sensor) no matter how it is flogged in 100+*F heat. Wes

What size fuel injectors and Lighning MAF?

You might be better off with something like 60# and a SCT 2400 to give you a bit more headroom with a blower H/C/I combo like that. I'd also look at running a 255HP pump and an inline or BAP. Watching the rail pressure/AFR on the dyno will tell you where you stand. When I tune on the dyno...

    custom tune?

It'll be close, if you've got the U4P0 processor you will be more apt to get away with it than if you've got the W4H0. You can pop off the passenger side kick panel and read the teartag on the PCM to see what you've got. Depending on the power of your motor, age of the transmission etc it is a...

Some one help with a datalog.

You got a twEECer? If so grab the LAMBSE1/2, KAMRF1/2, HEGO1/2, RPM and MAFV and post up a log. This will allow you to see what the fueling is commanded at and also if the HEGOs are functioning correctly. Wes

    custom tune?

You will see an increased topend with those changes. For the gears you will likely want a custom tune to lower the shifting RPMs of the transmission so that you do not nick the rev limiter. The stock transmission typically does not shift fast enough with the increased RPM rise that gears give...

    custom tune?

Nope but you will have to be sure to setup the throttlebody to factory specs to achieve the proper airflow. Usually 1.5 turns up from bottom on the ISC bleed and 1 turn past 0.010" clearance on the TB arm screw will get you here. I tuned a 342 last nite with 75MM throttlebody, X cam, Holley...

    wide ratio with 3.73

Figure out based on your track tire size and gearing what RPM you want to cross at. There are several online calculators to help ya figure this out. You probably want to be crossing in 3rd around 5,800-6,000 rpm. Off the cuff without knowing the ins and outs of your combo I think you will be...

    NOS timing question

One thing you do want to do as well is be sure you get a box with a rev limiter. The factor limiter fuel cut is AWESOME if you are NOT spraying meth/nitrous. When you have a secondary source of fuel you want a spark cut. Wes
