    Best mod for $299?

Why would you say that? Underdrive pullies are one of the best ways to eek every available horsepower out of a n/a vehicle. It's just physics there Kilgore . . . no magic.

    Vibration around 1400 rpms

Pull the inspection cover off of the tranny and see if the clutch fork is moving excessively.

Hurt my car tonight... Need advice

    hm331, a s/c is exactly what you need given your mods - and I'm thinkin' centrifugal . . . another reason why I use water / meth injection - to avoid nasty carbon build-up . . .

    Water pump blues

Interesting - I'm going to read your posts carefully from now on as I've learned a thing or two. I wonder why what you just posted is NOT in the instructions included with my Vortech kit . . . I guess I just got lucky, because I didn't bleed my coolant system at all after the installation...

help with steeda upper control arms!!

I used the largest diameter hole-saw that I could fit inside the bushing "ear" chucked up in my porter cable 14.4 volt drill (a 1/2 " Snap-On PDR-5A would be better . . . ). Once I removed the bulk of the bushings that way, I used an air die grinder with a small bit to clean out the rest...

    85 SVO - Burning Oil?

A buddy of mine has a 1985 SVO - 2.3L turbo obviously. He has had the entire motor rebuilt, as well as the turbo. He reinstalled the motor and bolted up the turbo. Upon firing it back up, it ran great for several minutes, then began to bellow blue smoke out of the tail pipe. He's been...

    I'm a lame mechanic

Guys, this is a simple problem to resolve. In order to remove the rear caliper, one must remove the emergency brake cable. To do that, you need to first remove the spring (in this case, already done), then remove the C-clip that retains the e-brake cable and slide it out (towards the front of...

Windshield washer fluid low level light.

Why? You can easily fit the small tank that comes with the Snow kit between the radiator and front clip. I turned mine so that the mounting ears on the top of the tank were towards the front of the car and mounted it directly to the front clip. No need to relocate the battery then. Just make...

Vortech Install *Guaging Install Help in NJ/PA/NY/CT)

Simple install btw, only three areas were difficult: 1. massaging the A/C lines out of the way of the mounting plate for the blower and the intake - you'll see 2. punching the oil pan - get the tap and punch LONG before the weekend, you'll thank me later 3. dropping the tank for the new...

    Bassani Mid's dyno results...

Great choice in exhaust for yours. Now, add a supercharger and you'll be sick at how the exhaust sounds at WOT!

    LTs vs. Mid-Length

The bassanis on mine were good for 4 tenths when it was n/a. Fairly easy to install, but time consuming. I just unbolted the motor mounts and jacked the motor up one side at a time. Still, things were very tight. You will have to remove the collectors to get the tranny out - rent a slide...

Got torque boxes welded and uca's and lca's, now its noisy

That sounds like the bolts that hold your driveshaft to your rear-end have worked their way loose. I had this exact same thing happen to me and a 12mm box end wrench and some loc-tite red cured that problem.

gears being swapped next friday...what should I do while I'm in there?

Really? Tell that to my rear end that was demolished on about the 10th pass on DRs running 14.0s . . . it had a K&N filter and 4.10s and was otherwise stock. When I say demolished - I mean it snapped both axles at the splines, which were unable to be removed from the carrier. That $90 I...

    Which clutch with 400rwhp?

Sure do love the McLeod in mine - pedal effort is about the same as stock. While you're in there, avoid the heartache I just went through and upgrade the stock ball stud - McLeod also sells these. Mine broke without warning . . . still am unsure how that happened exactly, but for $22 if I...

Aftermarket Clutch/Quadrant Users, come on in...

and of course not one ford dealer in the valley has the pivot ball in stock . . . so, I ordered an aftermarket one from McLeod that hopefully will prove more reliable.

Aftermarket Clutch/Quadrant Users, come on in...

found the problem - the ball gave me the shaft! As in the shaft the ball is on snapped in two. Of course, the break had to be in the end of the threads so I've got to get an EZ-OUT set and get the old threaded end out before I can replace it . . . I'll get a new clutch fork as well, as the end...

Aftermarket Clutch/Quadrant Users, come on in...

I guess I'm at a loss with this svttech76 - how could the clutch fork come off of the pivot ball but still function normally? If the far end of the fork was not attached to the pivot ball, then there is now way that the fork could do it's job . . . I've got the movement you describe with...

    Clutch Question for the Experts

This is not forward / rearward movement. The release fork moves from side to side - like rotating around the input shaft.
