    Ahhhh, I see. Hadn't even thought of that. I presumed any large, sudden movement of ANY kind would trigger the accelerometers and subsequently the clock. Have to think upon that.

    Wow...do you want to KNOW exactly what gears you have? Jack up the rear, make a mark somewhere on a tire, make a mark somewhere on the driveshaft (make sure you can see both marks), rotate the tire 1 time only, while counting how many times the driveshaft rotates...if it makes 3 complete...

    What kind and size of tire?

    You CAN run 275/40s on 8" wheels. You might want to go with a narrower tire brand (Falken ZE512s for instance won't look oversized on the wheel like say, a Sumitomo HZR or whatever). I run Sumi 315/35s on 10.5" rears and ZE512 275/40s on 8" fronts.

    So, do you have a pedal? Sounds as though you do. Any noise at all? Does it go into 1st gear when it's running? Sounds like a clutch prob to me. Wait until someone smarter replies though. Best of luck man.

    Tire Sizes and Issues...

    ?? My 98 Cobra has 275/40/17s on 17 x 8s at the front. NO ISSUES! Had the same tires on 9" rims at the front, also with no issues. It has 315/35/17s on 17 x 10.5s on the rear...a little inner wheel well rub with my new (wider) Sumitomos, but it took 15 minutes to eliminate this forever...
