    Ford Racing "B" springs

I hear what your saying. However all the info I have found indicates that Eibach was the vendor for Ford on their springs. These springs were originally made for the Fox cars also I believe, and those advertised drops may pertain to the Fox Body. I would be more inclined to blame a corporate...

    Ford Racing "B" springs

I have the "B's" and like them. I think the advertised drop was 3/4" front, and 1" rear. This was not the case on my car. It dropped between 1.5 and 1.625 front and rear. I was prettyy shocked in fact, because I had not intended on doing C/C plates. As a result of the drop, I did do MM c/c...

    Cobra Brake Kit Upgrade

Well, I haven't since I finished the install. At the time I put everything together there was no interference, not even close. My next step, if the brake experts don't have experience with this, is to jack it up and start to isolate the problem. Front or Back, Left or Right, etc.

    Cobra Brake Kit Upgrade

Hell yea I use the search feature! I also just completed a Cobra upgrade on my 98 GT. I Turned a set of Powerslot rotors about .0010 on average and all are still within Ford spec. I Used 99 Cobra calipers with 40,000 miles on them, the same Hawk pads that were in them when I bought the...

    Another Smoke at start-up question.

I'll admit it.....I'm just a user. Use you guys for your expertise when I need you, then dump you. Kinda like women......Just kidding. My car is done, and I've just kinda drifted away. In fact, I'm actually considering selling it and buying some land and a rocking chair. Good to hear from you...

    Another Smoke at start-up question.

UPDATE ON WHAT CAUSED THIS PROBLEM I thought I would get back to all of you and let you know what I found. As I wrote in an earlier post, I had changed a valve cover gasket, and added a PCV oil line seperator around the same time. It was immediately after this when I had the smoking at start-up...

    Another Smoke at start-up question.

As stated in my original post, I did the seperator mod, and in fact it looks like I used the identical part you did. From the first minute I started it up after I installed the seperator, I could see small droplets of oil swirling around in the bowl. I installed the oil seperator one day, and...

    Another Smoke at start-up question.

Pushing oil past the rings would cause continous smoking of some amount. I have to think this is somehow related to the valves or valve seals, or the PCV system in some way.

    Another Smoke at start-up question.

I'll try your suggestion, but there aren't any fuel related clues in the small cloud of smoke that comes out. Its a bluish white color, it lingers kind of heavy in the air until it dissipates (takes probably a minute), and it smells oily, not like fuel.

Thanks for the reply. All I use on anything is Motorcraft filters, and Mobile 1

    Another Smoke at start-up question.

Would appreciate opinions on this problem. This winter I replaced a passenger side valve cover gasket due to a leak. I also installed the "Home Depot Oil Seperator" set-up on the PCV line because I noticed the PCV line had gotten so saturated with oil that it actially looked like it was...

    Cobra Brake upgrade problem

I recently went with calipers and slotted rotors that had been running on the car (a 99 Cobra)together. I had them turned before install, and they had a slightly roughed up finish, meaning not real slick like a rotor with some miles on them. As soon as I drove it, I noticed that I could very...

Cobra brakes on a GT. I have a problem-HELP Please.

Update for future info searchers.....piston is right hand thread and you turn it clockwise to compress the piston. I made a tool similiar to pics of other tools. Once you know how it works, I guess its really pretty simple. Thanks for everyones input.

Cobra brakes on a GT. I have a problem-HELP Please.

Cross-threaded? Do you mean it is Left-Hand thread so you have to turn it counterclock-wise for it to go inward? Do any of you guys have access to a caliper or the tool to give me the diameter of the piston, or the distance apart the pin holes in the piston are? I thought the piston was 1.5...

Cobra brakes on a GT. I have a problem-HELP Please.

Couple more quick questions. What is the effect, if any, on the rubber piston boot while rotating the piston? It appears that the seal/connection is tight to keep contaminants out and would not rotate. Also, how did you figure this out? Did you put Cobra brakes on your car or are you just a...

Cobra brakes on a GT. I have a problem-HELP Please.

Oh man, that is great help. Thanks so much. This is the first time anyone has mentioned this in the months of reading I've done on the subject. I guess that is what the two small recesses are for on the end of the piston, a place for the tool to fit in. I wonder if there is a way to do it...

    shorties 1.5/8's on a 98 gt

I put the FRPP shorties on mine. In retrospect, I think it was a waste. I should have held out for the long tubes. Cost vs HP return factor is much greater with the long tube. The big issues are clearance for tools and your hands. Its tight. But its a weekend job if you have a good jack, stands...

Cobra brakes on a GT. I have a problem-HELP Please.

All the research I did on this indicated it was a bolt on swap, except for some minor issues on the rear, and there is my issue. Everything I read indicated that the GT caliper (mine is a 98 model) will work fine with the Cobra rotor as long as you use the Cobra caliper bracket to place the...

Ever removed a fuel rail? Help me out.

Thanks much...it looked straight forward, but you never know when something you don't see can bite you. The injectors only have 5500 miles on them, so I will chance the orings with a drop or two of oil. Thanks for the help.

fuel pressure regulator for 98GT...mines is made into the fuel rail???

Did you notice the drivability issues right at the time you put the pump in? If so, there is a connection or coincidence there. I'd check the pump install since you have to modify them correctly for the 255 pump to work. Definately sounds like something is up with the pump install if it is...
