    Christmas Present Photos

to be honest you are way better off just taking the hood off now, pulling the motor out and installing the complete engine and trans as one assembly. It will make your life much much easier. I installed my completed 347 with the deep pan and Tremec 3550 at the same time so there is plenty of room.

    Insuring my Classic

I have Hagerty, I started with them when I was 24, and it when I turned 25 the cost went down like 30-40%. Its pretty easy to increase the value of the down the road, when I first started I insured my 65 coupe for 15k, then over the years I have gradually increased my coverage based on the mods...

    9" Rear end

that will fit a 65? ebay or craigslist if your lucky, otherwise plan on either having a 9" from another year shortened and modified to fit. Or you can get a brand new one made. Any particular reason for wanting a 9"? 350hp is not really that much and an 8" can handle that just fine, unless...

    shock absorber selection

you may also want to consider Bilsteins, I just switched from KYB's to them and I am happy with the change. Still very stiff, but not quite as bouncy as the KYB's.

In general, how do stock '65s handle twisties

To be honest, unless you know a lot of history on the car and/or really trust the seller, I would be very hesitant to make that drive on HWY 1 for your first drive for a couple of reasons. First, its a difficult drive, there is a lot of downhill braking and that is hard on any brake system...

Who has a camera mount in their classic?

I have one, but you need to have adjustable headrests to make it work since it attaches to the two metal posts of the headrest.

Went to the strip today...Good & Bad news

now i am just debating if i should put my steal driveshaft back in with new u-joints and run it for awhile, or if I should spend $400 and get a new drive shaft right away. Vinyl66- It was only my first time on the drag radials and I really wasn't sure how to launch it. My last clean run I had...

    Tell me what to buy

No, thats not what I am saying, to stroke the motor requires a different crank, rods, and pistons. If you are planning on having a shop do the bottom end and because you don't have the parts already, I would look at buying a built short block for a reputable shop like DSS Racing, Coast High...

    Tell me what to buy

thats a pretty loaded question, how much do you plan on spending? are you doing the work yourself? But just to give you a rough idea, to put down 350 RWHP, you will at least need need a very well built stroker or 351, or some type of power adder, but that can be done a stock block. FWIW- In...

Thanks for the positive comments, I have been waiting for a long time to start getting some decent times on this car (considering all the money spent!) its also a nice pride booster that I can smoke my old man's C5 Vette! Went to the strip today...Good & Bad news

I had the driveshaft made by a local driveline shop. Its been awhile since I bought it, and there is no warranty that I remember, but I am going to take it into the shop this week and show it to them and see what there response is, as it appears that the failure was 100% a result of their...
