    you disconnect the wires from the back of it and stick a wire from the msd and a wire to ground on there... heh. do you really use the cigarette lighter? if you really needed a 12v power source in the car you could always wire in a 2nd one somewhere...

    if you ran the positive wire from your msd thru it, it would get hot... ground wires dont get hot because they are the neutral conductor... think about it... your whole car is a ground... why doesnt it get hot and melt? =) basically the positive wire goes to the "load", the energy is used...

    yes it will have an effect... think of it like gears on a bike, as you take certain gears out, the chain slows down... get a smaller alternator pulley or a smaller crank pulley to speed up the belt... or just upgrade toa 3G alternator and be done with it.

    msd --- ground wire ---- wire --- cigarette lighter --- wire --- ground pretty simple. once the lighter is pushed down its pretty hard to pull out... not ot mention if yers is worn out (stop smoking, DUH!) you can get replacements at autozone for like $5 and they're almost impossible...

    When I put my pro 5.0 on my T5 I didnt like the weird mechanical feeling at first... now I cant seem to live without it and I HATE driving stock shifter stangs... you'll get used to it and then you'll love it. give it time...

    if you've never replaced the u-joints... start there. it'll cost about $12 a piece and you simply remove the driveshaft (watch out for tranny fluid, hehe)remove the clips, punch out the old ones and punch in the new ones and stick in the new clips... I replaced mine and it feels like a whole...

    rattle in shifter

    all T5's with pro 5.0's and Tri-ax's in 5th gear have a rattle noise in the shifter... its just what it does... :nice: mine makes the same noise with my pro 5.0 and my friends tri-ax makes even more noise.

    you dont need a code scanner. locate the EEC-IV service harness located on your drivers side shock tower... there will be two plugs... one is just a single wire plug and the other has about 6 plugs in it, like two on top and foud along the bottom. take a small wire and connect the single plug...

    mine had a popping sound and I had put a steeda bumpsteer kit on it... still there... replaced balljoint and my balljoint was actually cracked... go figure. no more popping sound.

    that right there sounds like you were going to put a switch in line with the wires from the MSD to the coil... which would be a bad idea. later on in the thread you changed your story with the violet wire...

    Installing gears..

    you're going to have to find a shop that is able to install gears... they're relatively simple but they do require that you have 2 specialized gauges... one for setting the correct pinion depth and one for getting the correct drag... while you're at it you should get a gear installation kit...

    dont run your coil wires to a switch... theres waaay too much current running thru those for a switch. I think a cool idea is to run the ground wire thru the cigarette lighter... when its pushed in, the circuit is complete and the car runs... when the lighter is removed the car wont start...
