    Unless the freeze plugs were poorly installed, the usual cause is high pressure in the water cooling jacket. A leaky head gasket can do that, but so can a fresh water pump and lots of RPM. That's part of the reason why Ford put screw-in core/freeze plugs in the Boss 302 engines.

    Buy a service manual or T-5 videotape from one of the comapnies specializing in the T-5 repair/rebuild kits - it's inexpensive and well worth it. SVO, huh? You sure that's a V-8 specification T-5? All the SVO cars were turbo four-cylinders. The case tag should give the identification data.

    It looks like I'm good to go, then... the control arms are recent replacements which are already notched, and the previous owner did a neat job of rolling the fender lip. I just know that I'm gonna be wanting a power rack & pinion setup next, with all that extra rubber on the road!

    Check with the Ford parts counter - there is a a plug kit for the emissions ports on the *rear* of late-model 5.0 heads. It might be the correct size - can't hurt to ask.

    Do you have the factory dimensions for the unibody, so you can measure during the installation to ensure everything is positioned correctly? If not, check with parts vendors for the reproduction assembly manuals - the "Welds and Sealant" manual is the one with the chassis dimensions, IIRC.
