Just picked up a 70 fastback Mustang

You guys, those are awesome stories. I hate the both of you too! :D I'd like to see pictures of the "steals". Where do you go to get a vintage Mustang appraised? I'd like to know what my car is worth. P

    1966 Suspension

I think on one of the Sunday morning car shows (probably spike tv) I saw a vintage Chevelle conversion to all air bag suspension. Afterward they were going around cones like nobody's business. Is there a kit like that out there for vintage Mustangs?

I'm back to give it another shot

Much better! Hey, I am super happy for you that your family has fallen in love with your stang. My kids go for rides in mine all of the time. I have a motorcycle and sleds and there isn't much a guy can do with a 5 yr old and a 2 yr old on either of those. But they do like riding with me...

    Speedo stopped working

Wow, lots of server busy messages lately. That's ok though. I think I have this figured out. I think the cable slid up in the sheath. To the point of not making good contact with the gear in the trans. I have temporarily fixed it by wrapping a small amount of masking tape around the end...

I'm back to give it another shot

I'd have to agree with allcarfan. The first part of the original post in the forum is, to a degree, degrading/offensive/prejudiced to everyone who posts on this site. I felt catagorized from it and I have only been a member for a couple months.

    Mustang Plus!! What's The Deal!!!

My $.25: I bought a carpet set from them online and it seems very cheaply made. Cheap sewing and the carpet was all fuzzy (kind of like it was used already). I called them about it and they will happily refund my money, but not the $14 it cost to ship it to me or the cost of sending it...

    Carpet question

I bought a set of carpet on ebay from mustangsplus recently and I got the package and the carpet has all kinds of fuzz sticking up. The carpet in my car currently has that same problem only much worse. I was hoping the new carpet would be a nice tight loop carpet with no fuzz. Can anyone...

    stupid carburetor

tweet66 - Are the Demon's better than the 4100? I have a 4100 and I love it (now that I have the right gaskets on it...) P

    Ping vs. Tick

69 302/351c - you hit it on the head! I'm almost positive it is an exhaust leak. Driver's side doghnut I think. What are they about $2 each - probably do both sides. Looks like they are fairly easy access items. P

    Freakin' MONEY Pit!!!

At least most of the body and interior parts are cheap through the catalogs for these cars (unless you need to go all original).

    Speedo stopped working

Well, I don't know about a 90 degree angle, but it does have a pretty tight curve just after it leaves the trans. I'm sure it is probably a cable problem.

    Ping vs. Tick

Thanks D.Hearne, Well the ticking is a steady sound and does keep up with the increasing rpms so it must be a lifter then. I'll throw another couple quarts of oil in and see if that helps. It was covering the on the bottom dot on the dipstick (right above the word "fill"). Maybe that's...

    Ping vs. Tick

Hey guys. My 289 was running pretty good except when I used to start the car I could hear a ticking sound for about a second or two. I talked to the guy at the frontdesk at NAPA (probably not the smartest thing to do) and he handed me some of this Marvel Mystery something or other in a red...

    Speedo stopped working

It seems like when temps drop around here my car's speedo quits working. It quit working on me a couple weeks ago and then the next time I had it out (and it was warmer out) the speedo was working again. Yesterday it got cooler out and again the speedo stopped working. At mid-day after the...

    Motor Mounts on 65 289

Hey 302, here's a picture of my torque strap. I had some extra braided steel cable laying around so I figured I'd try it out. Mine's not as beefy as yours but I think it will do the trick. If not...I'll just make another one out of thicker cable.

    timing a 289

Now that I got my vaccuum leak solved my timing is much more consistant. When I check it at idle with the vac advance disconnected and a golf tee in the vaccuum line I am sitting at 6 degrees, When I re-connect the advance I idle at 12 degrees and when I rev the engine up I am go up and over...

    Autolite 4100

Put the new (and correct) gaskets on and you'd never know how much difference $1.98 could make. I am a happy camper. Purring like a kitten and cold starts like a dream. No more pumping the gas pedal after turning the key!!! Vaccuum leaks suck! :notnice: Me = :D Thanks to...

    Autolite 4100

My appologies to JB66 as he was the first one (and early on in the thread) to suggest that it sounds like I have a vaccuum leak. Don't know why I waited this long to try the most simple of tests (probably because I wasn't sure what was supposed to happen), but I sprayed carb cleaner near the...

Help, broken bolt stuck in engine block

I had the same exact thing happen on my 65 and I ended up doing the dremel with tiny cutting discs to notch a groove in the broken bolt and I too was amazed at how easily it unscrewed. I would have been able to unscrew it by fingers but there wasn't enough sticking out so I used a screwdriver...
