What would cause a car not wanting to go over 3500rpm (2000 4 banger Contour)

When was the last time it was tuned up? Sounds like it could be either a bad clogged cat or a fuel filter. When it starts to do this, ease up on the throttle a bit and see if it feels like there is a bit more power that way. Doing this should point to a broken brick in the cat, the higher the...

    Pro toplines vs. thumpers

Hmm. I didn't know they made aluminum heads. I was thinkin about the cast iron ones for comparison. $880 shipped is damn cheap. I think I'll take that route instead. Can you shoot me an email or post up here what site you got them from? Thanks for the responses guys. Nick

    Pro toplines vs. thumpers

I'm in the market for some heads for my current 302 to hold me over for a while until I finish the 331. If you had to choose which heads to go with, what would you choose? They will most likely be going with my TFS stage 1 cam. Thanks Nick

    Vibration

Does it vibrate while driving and/or in neutral? If it is while driving I would try and turn the driveshaft 180 and see what happens. Also check the wheels for balance issues. At what rpm does it go away? What mph is it at when it vibrates? Or in any gear while at 2000 rpm. Nick

    backfiring after o/r x install

Is it backfiring on acceleration or deceleration? If its on deceleration its probly just from lack of backpressure and more frreeflowing exhaust. What mufflers are you using?...scratch the muffler question, just read the sig. What size piping tailpipes do you have? possible popping from a 2...

Can I use bullet wheels with the junkyard 5 lug conv?

Someone posted up a couple weeks ago, they used the aftermarket bullitt wheels with a 24mm offset if I remember correctly. That was using the mark vii rotors. Nick

If I were you I would go ahead and jack the drivers side front of the car up in the air. It will help get any more air pockets out of the system. They are pesky and can make people rip there own hair out. Let it run and cycle a for a while with the car up in the air like that. You'll be...

What kind of gas milage do you get

My best was 26 mpg coming home from seeing my GF at college. All highway, doing anywhere from 65 mph to 80 mph. Around town I'm lucky if I see 150 out of a tank. Nick

    03 crown vic e. fan

I'm hoping it will move some good air, its quite a large fan. I cut the shroud off of the fan but left the shroud area that goes around the diameter of the fan to protect it. I am going to make a new shroud that will be flush with the rad since I have to mount the fan about 3/4 of an inch away...

    03 crown vic e. fan

That is what I was thinking, I'll have to see if I can mock some type of shroud up for it. The shroud that was on this fan was to big for the rad and clearance was an issue. Nick

    03 crown vic e. fan

Ok, so it was alot bigger than planned but I cut the outer plastics off and now it will fit. I can probly rig something up where I can use the stock shroud and just mount the fan inside it but I'd rather just mount the fan right to the rad. Do I necessarily need a shroud or can I get away...

    03 crown vic e. fan

I just picked the fan up, its quite large but I think I may be able to swing something. Possible move the rad foward a bit. So the DCC controller takes over the module thats on the fan originally? Nick
