    How does the car shift when the engine is off? If it shifts thru the gears smoother than whilke running you have a misadjusted clutch. It may be time for a new cable and/or adjustable quadrent. Try pushing the pedal to the floor, then pulling up on it then back to the floor then pull again...

    Sounds like the handle broke, try putting your thumb on the left side of the handle and applying pressure while you lift it and see if the door opens. It does sound like the handle went out. Easy fix, and while your at it, upgrade to the steel ones, F the plastic crap. Nick

    I see that you changed the guage because the autometer took a dump. Did you change the sending unit when yu changed the guage? If the car has ever overheated a bit it can damage the sending unit to in-turn give a false reading. Just a thought Nick
