Automatics- Is a 2nd gear boost possible?

If you have a transmission thats built to do that then what you say is true. The problem is that manual first uses the reverse band and manual 2nd uses the overdrive band. If you have much modification to the rest of the car and none to the tranny then the bands may be slow to apply and will...

    Auto Transmission Problems

Unless the dipstick doing the job left the old o-ring from the filter in the tranny. It happens a lot and you get the intermittant feeling like it is low on fluid. If it slips at all anymore, take it back and watch them pull the pan and filter. I bet you find an orange ring in the filter hole...

    99+ autos with stalls!

He is about to cut it off and raise the price. It is an introductory deal that he set up where he isn't making any money at all really. He just wanted to get these converters out there and get people talking. He was also low on the retail pricing he mentioned in his first post I think. Do the...

    99+ autos with stalls!

Circle D doesn't have a triple plate yet. The only option for a multi plate is the PI and I don't like that paper clutch either. For the contact info on that converter that I know of I would have to give a phone number and I don't want to do that in an open forum. Trust me, its worth the PM...

    99+ autos with stalls!

Well, I have seen too many people get in trouble for "advertising" when that isn't what they were actually doing. To be completely honest, I may end up selling these in the future. I don't right now, but I have inquired about it. So there lies my dilemma. I can hook you up with the guy...

    99+ autos with stalls!

Do yourself a favor and ask them if they will use something other than a paper clutch. Those tend to get hot and flake easily. You know, they would make a good converter if they used a good clutch material. Other than that, they are pretty decent inside. Darrin

    99+ autos with stalls!

Unfortunately the converter I have is now classified as Unobtanium. He is unable to make any more until some point in the fairly distant future. Darrin

    99+ autos with stalls!

With a lockup converter the mileage will be exactly the same on the highway regardless of stall because the converter is locked up. So keep that in mind if you do a lot of highway driving. With my 4000 multi plate stall converter I get an average of 28mpg on the highway. Because I can stay out...

This must be the best bang for the buck mod for Non-PI cars

Oh God! Hadn't thought of that yet. But I don't have one of those just lying around though. Ports should all be the same. The Bullitt uses the exact same PI heads and takes the exact same intake gaskets. Here we go again...

This must be the best bang for the buck mod for Non-PI cars

Well, I concede to the NPI gaskets I think. The PI gasket does have a smaller hole for the water passage and when you match it up to the NPI head, it's way too close for me. I just don't think it would seal. Conversely, the NPI gasket is really close on one corner of each port of the pI intake...

This must be the best bang for the buck mod for Non-PI cars

Gaskets He used the regular gaskets, not the PI ones. I would think the PI gaskets would be the best route if they will fit. I know there are mounting tabs on the PI gaskets that will not line up on the NPI heads but you could cut those off since they are only plastic pins. I think the water...

This must be the best bang for the buck mod for Non-PI cars

He just has the NPI cams and look at those numbers! Especially after the old intake ran out and the new one kept going. If he gets that a/f fixed he will be in hog heaven. There is more there with just the intake, but I bet you could see another 10-15 out of it if you added in the cams. Some...
