    tremec time

I have put TONS of abuse on my TKO. I run it at the track with slicks a lot and it hooks hard. The case had a small crack in it and the guys at Pro-Motion said it was pretty common for that to happen. I have been really satisfied with it overall.

    Dragstrip woes... :(

Don't worry about your tires not smoking. If they are grabbing they are hot. No reason to spin them more if they are already hooking.

    Tranny for 300 I6

They didn't offer a 5spd still 87 in the F-series. They had two different transmission that will bolt up to a 300-6. One is a ZF and can be identified by the diamond shaped ribs in the in the case, no removable top cover and about 99% of them used and external clutch slave cylinder. The...

I went and saw it last night and it was WAY better than I expected. Well worth the money to go see it in the theater. :nice:

    McLeod Street Twin

I launch at 5500 with a car that weights 3500lbs. My car ran a 7.28 @ 94.2 Mph in the 1/8th mile (11.40's in the 1/4). My local 1/8 mile track is usually a couple a tenths slower than the 1/4 mile tracks I run at.

    McLeod Street Twin

From what I gathered from the McLeod tech guys the discs are not made out of anything special. That's what my problem is. The heavy duty discs they make are made out of a copper metallic material that will tolerate the heat better.

    McLeod Street Twin

Yeah I've tried a lot of different manufacturers and haven't found anything that works well in my application yet. I'm not bashing McLeod or anything just a little frustrated that a clutch that's advertised to hold 800hp didn't hold up to my 425hp car. I'll get it fixed and try it again. They...

    McLeod Street Twin

I put a new McLeod Street Twin in my car about a month and a half ago. Took it to the track for the second time last weekend. After the first pass I could smell it getting hot and then it started slipping. :nonono: I called McLeod this morning and the tech guy told me that the standard Street...

    need opinions.....

well his statement was not that he didn't have oil pressure, but that he was not getting oil to the top through the rockers. I have seen many times where it just takes time to get the oil to the top. Start the car as normal and as always make sure you have oil pressure. The engine was running...

    need opinions.....

I wouldn't worry about the oil problem yet. Get the car fired and running before you worry about it. As far as setting initial timing goes. Start by removing the #1 plug wire and plug. Set it on a ground (just like you would normally do to check for spark) and with the key ON twist the...

    Eliminating O2's

I run my car without 02's. My collectors leak enough that I can't use them. I didn't see much differance in milage, but I did loose some. Make sure to reset your computer if you unhook them. If your computer doesn't see the 02's when it comes online it won't throw a code.

    is 450hp still streetable?

I will assume you're talking 450rwhp. I have a streetable n/a 347 that makes around 430rwhp. The 408 should be able to make the 450 and still be easily as streetable as my 347. If you have a good tune there shouldn't be any problems keeping it on the street. I have problems in the hot summer...

Do i really need a main support girdle???

I ran my car without one for a while. Without it the main bearings and caps were in bad shape when we pulled it apart. It allowed the caps to walk back and forth on the block and ate the bearings on both edges. It also ended up cracking my crank. When I installed mine I modified my stock...
