Ford GT dyno numbers are in !

Holy ****ing **** batman!!! I'd heard they were going to re-rate it at 550HP. Even so, that's the most massively underrated car in history. I mean, it's not surprising that it's putting out obscene amounts of power, given that a twin-screw blower on the DOHC 4.6 easily hits 500HP, and this...

$3-$4 a Gallon for Premium Gas + 18 mpg Mustang

The US has the lowest gas prices outside of the middle east countries themselves. Let's not turn this into a political fight, because that's not only stupid and pointless, but it doesn't belong here.

Chrger will be built by next Feb.-Apr.

Uhm. The GTO and Mach 1 are almost dead even. The Mach 1 and 05 Mustang GT are going to be pretty much even in straight-line performance. Thusly, it stands to reason that the GTO and Mustang GT will be pretty even.

    Drove the 05 Yesterday!!!!

That car is just screaming for ram air. Can't you hear it? :D

$3-$4 a Gallon for Premium Gas + 18 mpg Mustang

$4.50/gal? Oh dear lord. That's still over $3.30/gal USD. Eek. I have to put premium in my Audi, and that's gonna be costly when I go up to Canada this summer for a few days. Guess I better fuel up in Maine before I cross over then. Do you know what the cost is like in PEI? Around here...

Talked with a Ford Engineer at the Dallas Auto Show Today DUW

Mmm... those body panels are so much tighter than the SN95. The overall fit and finish of this car seems world class to me. I can't wait to test drive one.

Talked with a Ford Engineer at the Dallas Auto Show Today DUW

Was this actually a Ford engineer who said about the GT350 and GT500? Because this is the third or fourth different story coming from someone to attend a show and hear about those two models. It's starting to give the rumor some credibility here...

Ward's article on 05 Mustang Platform Development

“We'll do 180,000 in the first year, so it needs to be cheap. Besides, you'll soon see a cracking roll-out of limited editions: the Mach One, Bullitt (and) Boss Cobra.” What? Holy jeebus. Did anybody notice this one? It's from the other article...

Ward's article on 05 Mustang Platform Development

"It is doable, and when the Mustang lineup is complete, thought can be given to a high-performance Lincoln, Martens says." This sounds like something that could provide for the beginning of the rebirth of Lincoln - a nice roadster, something to compete with the Cadillac XLR, the BMW Z4, etc...

Re: 2005 Mustang GT Anti-Theft Optional Package

If I were buying a new car, especially one that will attract as much attention as the new Mustang, I'd definately get a pager alarm right away. It'd be really nice to see such a thing offered from the factory, but I don't expect this will happen any time soon, except on really high-end luxury...

05 Mustang GT in my dealership today...

SWEET! That is some fine factory exhaust there.

    saw a Bullitt yesterday

A 2004 GT Vert should not cost you $31,800 if it doesn't have something you don't already have on your 2000. To reach that price level, it'd have to have the Mach 1000 system or the 40th Anniversary package, I believe. Either way, most dealers would be willing to go well under MSRP for a 2004...

Is there a current vehicle that uses the '05 V-6 4.0?

Why should it be father ahead? What exactly are you expecting? You can make opinion statements all you like, but saying things like it should be further ahead because it's had 50 years to advance isn't really going to sway anybody. And the '93 Mustang 4cyl. isn't even that great an example...

    2005 Roush Mustang

Not sure about that wing. I think from that angle it almost feels like a Toyota Celica GT-S.

    Love the new design but..........

Ever driven a VW Cabriolet with the top down? I haven't, but I've riden in one. I honestly was not expecting to survive merging into traffic it was so slow. A Festiva has better power.

    Rumor Mill 2006 Cobra

The Viper simply doesn't come that close to the GT in handling. The overall track times aren't close enough to call them equals by any stretch. I'm really waiting for some numbers from the Nurburgring from those cars. Then we'll see who makes the better supercar. I don't think we're going...

    No sub 20k 2005 V8

The Magnum SRT-8 is where it's at. A 380/450 hp/tq supercharged hemi AWD wagon? What could be better? I don't get you wagon-haters.

    Aluminum vs. Iron Block...

Aluminum blocks are lighter, dissipate heat better, and are fairly durable. However, iron blocks are pretty much bullet-proof, which is why the 03 Cobra motor got an iron block. I'm not really sure why the V6 has an iron block rather than aluminum, though. Possibly to keep enough weight over...

    Rumor Mill 2006 Cobra

No, Ford's answer to the Viper and Z06 is to laugh uncontrollably at how pathetic they are. The Ford GT has the Italians in its sights. The Z06 and Viper can't really even hope to compete.

    Rumor Mill 2006 Cobra

Well, this confirms it then. There definately will not be a Shelby Mustang or a V10 in the next Mustang. Anything a dealer tells you that isn't in the general press is 99.99999% of the time going to be bull'Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me'.
