Engine Air Tube On Head Problem

Here is the stock plumbing on a truck 5.0. The car setup is very similar, and bolts to the heads the same way...

Engine Air Tube On Head Problem

It appears to have a plug in it. Like you say, the plug is made to be removed with a big screw driver. The plug is threaded, I would assume, in case the head is ever swapped around and that hole is needed for accessory mounting. I just plug them with a very short bolt of correct threads, but...

Drivetrain Increased axle noise with urethane control arms bushings?

Looks to me like the lower is missing some bushing... ??? The lower sway bar attachement is there, ready for your stock bar if you like.

    Tune On Maf Converted Stang

You are already running an A9P ECM? Or that is what you have for the conversion? If you already have that ECM, then the pigtail harness and MAF should be all you need to convert. Like jrichker said, if you have the correct MAF for the injectors you want to use, you should be fine, at least until...

    83 Stang 351 Conversion

One thing is for sure... you'll have plenty of room for intake/carb. Purty color. The short block should be plenty strong for what you are doing. Good choice in heads too I'm sure. If the short block is still stock, but in good shape, I would just make sure to replace the oil pump and timing...

    94 Gt Wont Idle Down

I would point out that you need to check that the MAF itself is calibrated for 24# injectors. I know in 93 that the Cobra was calibrated in the ECM for 24#ers, NOT the MAF. So, if you use 24# injectors and Cobra MAF with a non-Cobra ECM, you are then NOT calibrated for 24s. I am not sure, but...

    Engine Compression Query

I realize now why you might do a wet test.... It will tell you if you are having oil control issues in cylinder #1. That little spike over the others is within tolerance, but what if it is wet from a problem? Then it might actually be very low compared to the others when they are wet. I'd do a...

    Engine Compression Query

When it comes to a well balanced long block, if it ain't broke, don't fix it... that's just my opinion though. The only times to tend to break that rule is oil pump, if I have the pan off for some reason, timing set if I happen to have the timing cover off, or the stock valve springs/seals if I...

Ticking, Smoking, Low Oil Pressure, Distributor/cam Gear Not Turning

That's a question that could have so many answers.... Too many to even start guessing over the net. There are a thousand ways that a part could have failed, been out of tolerance, or the engine builder could have made a tiny mistake.

Engine So Many Throttle Body Choices!

75mm is cool. EFI does not have quite the same response issues with a large throttle as a carb'd vehicle. I can say that I just swapped my son's 94 over to Fox induction, and he got a Stack Racing 75mm TB on sale for $117 shipped, and it was a great piece IMO. It was a Fox part though, but I...

Installing A Cam: What Else Do You Need To Do?

There are some things that you just change when you get a chance, and the timing set is one, unless you know it was changed on a previous trip inside the engine. Oil pumps are the same way IMO, but that is not coming out with a cam swap of course... Valve springs and seals are parts that...

    Engine Compression Query

That looks excellent to me. ??? Maybe someone else can divine more from it, but so long as your readings are all close, like that, everything's cool. If you still have concerns, then a wet test might be in order. I know a wet test tells you different things than a dry test. Someone might chime...

Ticking, Smoking, Low Oil Pressure, Distributor/cam Gear Not Turning

If I had to guess, I would say that the low oil pressure likely caused your problems, rather than your problems causing low oil pressure. The latter is possible, but less likely since the timing chain doesn't really affect the oil pressure.

Ticking, Smoking, Low Oil Pressure, Distributor/cam Gear Not Turning

Sounds like you're correct. If the crank is spinning, and the cam is not, the first suspect would be the timing chain. Could have done a couple things, but pulling the timing cover is manditory, so why bother guessing...

    362 Hp 306 Maf/inj/tb Combo

Your math is off. A 15% loss cannot be put back on top of rwhp numbers, because 15% loss from a higher number is higher loss. Make sense? Example: 362 fwhp with a 15% loss factor is 362 - 54 = 308 rwhp (theoretical) But if you dyno'd 308 rwhp, and try to put 15% back on top, or 308 x 1.15, you...

    MAF question...

Think about this: Whatever problems you have now, converting to MAF is not going to fix a thing. You will still have problems. An SD system will run great when it's in tune, just like the MAF will run bad when you have problems you don't fix. Make sense? If you decide to go to a MAF conversion...

    MAF question...

You can get the ECM from Autozone or Advance for right about $100. (You keep saying "chip", and we are assuming you mean ECM. Make sure he isn't really talking about a "chip", that won't help you one bit. You need the ECM...) You don't need anything else he is selling, to do the swap. My son got...
