    oil pump drive shaft question

My drive shaft looks nothing like those, and it did come out with the distributor...anyway, all I care about is who that girl is that Historic keeps treating us with...

Found a camshaft in my trunk...

When I bought my car, the PO left a load of crap in the trunk. I just pulled the tank, so had to empty the contents of the trunk. In there is a camshaft, a little surface rust, but unused (the distributor drive is totally unmarked, as are the cam lobes). How on Earth can I tell what it is...

    oil pump drive shaft question

I haven't got one, and there was no 'witness' mark on the shaft to indicate where one should be...oh well, as long as the oil pump is holding it in at the bottom, and the distributor at the top. Better hope it doesn't break.

Lights don't work on instrument cluster

They are wired in parallel, so one lamp blowing will not prevent the others from working.

    Original License Plate Replacement

A place in the UK that might be able to help is: http://www.sprintsigns.co.uk/statesplates/ We (the Brits) use them to make up licence plates that look right on American cars. Even if you add in the shipping back to the US, it'll be cheaper than the price you've been quoted. They are the...

    oil pump drive shaft question

So where does this 'E' clip fit then? I pulled my dizzy to turn the engine over to pre-lube it, and the oil pump shaft came right out with it. There was no groove in the end to suggest it needed a retainer of some sort. Took fing ages to get it back in...

    Steering Wheel (dumb question)

...make sure you leave the nut on a few turns. The 'wheel can stick on the splines, and when you got all your effort into it, it pops off and smacks you in the face. Guess how I know...

    Blingin' Tailpipes

I'm sad to admit, but I really like these - how they gonna stick a smog pipe up there to check at the annual inspection...? But have you seen the price?:jaw: $50 says 65ShelbyClone is the first to get a pair...:D

Is a rev limiter absolutely necessary?

Yeah, I use the Crane XR-i ignition module which has simple dial on the top to set the rev limit. Car not really* on the road yet, so I can't comment on it's effectiveness. My main experience with such things in on European 4 banger stuff, so I can't say what is available to you over there...

Is a rev limiter absolutely necessary?

If you have a manual trans, and don't want to grenade your engine, they are a must. Imagine that missed shift, you bang your right foot to the floorboards and your RPM's go past the redline into 11k or more. BLAMMO! They work in different ways, but the most common type just cuts the LT...

    Wiring troubles

Do it yourself. If you get reproduced wiring harnesses they all have the correct ends on, and with a decent wiring diagram (PM me if you can't turn up one for your 66) it will be a snap. Weekend's work at the most. Strip out one bit at a time, and replace as you go. You'll be lifting...
