    Ordered New '08 Vert Today

I would take my stang over a 325 any day, but I hope you aren't including the M6 when you mention german blandness, that is a pretty sweet ride. some kind of legal crap, kind of like everything else that gets ruined because some idiot wins a big lawsuit

    Ordered New '08 Vert Today

I'm really just kidding, but the car is definitely not her idea of a good use of funds. I do like the heated seats in the convertible myself but I kind of wish they would stay on more than 10 minutes. Maybe someone could do a thread woth a writeup for defeating the timer on these. A high/low...

    Ordered New '08 Vert Today

Oh Yeah, they are nice to have when out with the top down on a cool night. Otherwise the constant bitching from the passenger seat would force me to put the top up. Now she has plenty of time to gripe about my driving instead.

NEED INFO on loudest exhaust setup!!!????? PLEASE HELP

Get the offroad H-pipe first and see how you like it before you bother blowing money on Loudmouths or anything else. This is not to say that you wouldn't like the Loudmouths or another cat-back better, but the H-pipe is going to make a huge difference. Once you have the H you might be content...

    Doors automatically locking when driving?

uh, I believe he was saying that he didn't notice it. I actually liked having this feature in past vehicles, why doesn't it work with the manual cars?

    My new ride!

Hood shake is pretty common with these cars at high speeds. Get some hood pins if it bothers you. I personally like the Shelby set the best and you can get them with or without the shelby logo on them.

I wish I had my camera..

The best one I ever saw was a Chevy Nova with a paint roller pan taped upside down to the hood. It actually looked like he spent a lot of time painting it (and the tape). I always wondered how much power he gained from that. :rlaugh:

getting intake tune and xpipe. have a question

You might want to get a new bolt for the crank pulley so you are ready for the install when the pulleys arrive. If I remember correctly the Steeda instructions have you re-use the original bolt but I have heard it is a one time use bolt. It is probably worth the $5 or so to just get a new bolt...

getting intake tune and xpipe. have a question

You should ask the guys at Brenspeed to be sure but it shouldn't be a problem. An x-pipe doesn't require a tune as far as I know, the only adjustment to the tune would be to turn off the check engine light that you typically get when removing the cats. You know, the install on the off road...

    Help on hood pins

I think these may be the same as the ones on ebay. I am thinking about doing these without the cables though, I am guessing that they are not necessary, right? I don't see Shelby stamped on them which is a plus for me also. They must be pretty similar though since the link for instructions...

    New GT Owner

Different strokes for different folks.....Judging by my own experience I would bet that sooner or later someone will tell you that a convertible is a girly car. Whatever. I used to know a girl that was a model and a very tenacious boxer in some tough Detroit gyms that scared me and her white 5.0...

    Jack Stands

I love you guys but you're killing me. I still have to install my LCAs and relocation brackets and now I am confused. The first thing that Bigcat has in his write-up is to support the car so that the suspension hangs free, you guys are saying to support the car from the rear axle/differential...

Will aftermarket clutch / flywheel void the warranty?

I don't see anything to be afraid of. The check engine light is most likely from the h-pipe as he said. It is true that he can get rid of the light with an MIL eliminator, although you really should plan on getting a tune/handheld programmer which also takes care of that and a whole lot more. I...

    drive shaft

Shipping is not included at Modular Depot (at least not that I know of), I didn't realize Sutton offered free shipping on this. As it turns out you will be within a few dollars one way or another depending on where you live since the shipping is not a flat rate from MD.

Brenspeed / Comp NSR (No Springs Required) Cams

Yeah, the install is apparently not fun. Brenspeed actually prefers to put the car up on the lift and drop the motor to do the install of the springs. I am at the point that I don't really care though, hopefully FRPP or Comp releases the cams with the idle I want by the time I pull my car out...

Brenspeed / Comp NSR (No Springs Required) Cams

Apparently the cam install is not that hard to do if you have the $300 or so worth of tools specifically for this motor. The really hard part that takes a lot of time is when you have to change the springs. From what I have been told it ends up being a long and tedious process which is why the...

Brenspeed / Comp NSR (No Springs Required) Cams

I made a few phone calls this morning (JPC, FRPP, Brenspeed), hopefully this will save you guys the trouble. FRPP cams are not available yet and no release date or any other info is available from them yet. I was however told (not by Ford) they will require springs, they will not lose any...

    8-bolt flywheel with a 07 GT clutch?

I was told that my car came stock with a forged crank. Is that not true or is there some other benefit to swapping to the Cobra crank? I am also pretty sure that the stock clutch is 11" so you have to change the clutch and flywheel together to go to a 10.5" setup.
