late model wheels on a '68

Just make sure with tires in the front stay smaller or at a 235 wide and in the rear usually no larger than a 245 or 255 without having to worry about tire rub. I would say run 225's up front and 235's in the rear and you won't have to even worry about it.

Some pictures of the problem you're talking about will probably yield a quicker answer.

POSSIBLE CPP SUSPENSION FRONT BALL JOINT FIX.

Thinking about it though if the problem is the lower ball joint which I'm guessing it is then this procedure won't lower the car as you say because the height is determined by the upper control arm. This will just realign the spindle and lower the lower control arm. Hopefully that made sense...

    70's tank in a 68?

yea you need the '70 pickup. The tank fits without a hitch as I have a 1970 tank in my '66. In hindsight though 22 gallons is way too much fuel and I should have gone with the '69's 20 gallon tank instead. Oh well though.

Driver's side turn signal and brake light do not work

You have something wired backwards in the turn signal switch area. Check out the wiring diagram again to find out which wires go to the left tail and fron marker that are broken and check to make sure they're not crossed up. This could also be a problem with your hazard switch if your car has...

    Heater Wiring (Painless)

Looking further it seems the painless diagrams were updated at somepoint. The manual that came with my kit is an old black and white version. The new color version on the website is very nice. It's too bad I already figured out most of my problems except for this one heh.

    Heater Wiring (Painless)

That must be it! Thanks Tim. In my diagram it didn't show you had to connect those two. I'll have to try it next time I'm home. Too bad that's not for another 2 weeks as I'm out of town for work. Thanks again! If this works my last issue will be the blasted windshield washer motor which I...

    Heater Wiring (Painless)

yea I know how it works. I'm saying my brown wire in the engine bay doesn't have any power flowing through it to the blower motor and it should. It's not the fuse either so I have no idea. I posted this on Painless' website as well as maybe they know of something I'm missing. I'm so close to...

    Heater Wiring (Painless)

Ok so I'm down to two last gremlins on my installation of the 20120 harness into my 1966 Coupe. My questions regarding the heater wiring. I know and understand how it works but my problem is I'm not getting power to either of the yellow or brown wires that are under the hood that are supposed to...

In general, how do stock '65s handle twisties

I honestly would have it inspected by a professional before driving it that many miles but regardless of that the car will probably handle just fine. Aside from some slight bump steer these cars are basically point and shoot as far as handling goes.

I need help with choosing leaf springs

I have 5 leaf mid eye's and in the front 1" lower 620's. I did the shelby drop in the front and my car sits pretty level. the rear does sit a bit lower though so I'm gonna have to cut a half coil or so to even it out. The ride with the 5 leafs is great and that's my suggestion to you.

    Bizarre alternator and starting issue

With my 3g install I had to bypass the ammeter cause it can't handle the 3G. Try just taking out the gauge cluster really quick and taking the wires off the ammeter and splicing them together. Be very careful though as the wires are battery 12v hot.

getting a 245/45/17 to fit on the front

very sharp looking car. I was wondering why you're deadset on running 245's in the front?

getting a 245/45/17 to fit on the front

I have 235/45/17's on the front with a 1" spacer. That's really as wide as you can go and it's still pretty tight in there.

    Brake bleeding question

Ok so I have installed 4 wheel discs and made my own lines. I have a power booster from Mustangsteve and a 2000 Mustang V-6 Master cylinder. I have bleed the system a bunch of times using the 2 person method which I believe is the best. The problem is I still have a soft pedal upon doing all...
