    3.55 vs. 3.73 Gears

    I'd go 4.10's I wish I had with my 3.73's. My gas mileage went UP by 1-2 mpg on both highway and in town. I was getting 14-15 mpg in town and after the 3.73's I was getting 16-17 on a regular basis. Yes my car was daily driven at that time.

    I believe that is what it has come down to, either an off balance Flywheel or off balance Clutch pressure Plate. I have a Spec II. I emailed SPEC and they're more than happy to check the balance for me and if its found to be defective, they're going to replace it and pay freight. Good...

    Nope, its about two years old and has no wobbles, or rubber coming out and the timing marks are still lined up. Thanks for the idea though!

    Thanks for the idea, but I tried running it without the accessory belt on and the vibration at stand still is still there. I'm attributing it to a slightly out of balance flywheel / clutch combination. I've got nothing to do this winter anyways so I'm gonna pull the trans and get all that checked.

    I would certainly hope that there's nothing wrong with the clutch or flywheel, but the vibration has to be coming from somewhere... I know the clutch should be properly balanced and that the flywheel shouldn't be out of balance, but if you take metal off the flywheel, that can change the...

    Thanks, I actually just ordered an Aluminum Driveshaft from Buyfordracing.com ($199) so I'll install that when it gets here (I'm guessing a week) and I'll give that a shot. Lots of people are pointing at the driveshaft so It's worth a shot. After that, I'm going to look into the pilot bearing...

    I think I'm going to do it like this. 1.) Get the wheels balanced 2.) Jack it up and look for anything rubbing like the exhaust and look at the mounts (even though they're brand new) 3.) Try mounting the driveshaft in all 4 possible positions. (Before winter) If nothing works from...
